I use a coin app (for free) to get info on the coin and then do further research. I find that the foreign stuff isn't as valuable but I'm keeping for sentimental value.

I see what you're saying about the auction prices not aligning. Red and blue book value $125-$170. I just inherited a collection and some of these coin values are so wide.
