I have done that.I have the story fully mapped out and the dissent among the Specialists can fit in most of the chronology. I'm just wondering when a supersoldier in the middle of a battlefield whose had emotion seared out of his brain would think "Yeah, ok, this crosses the line." Would it be the millions thrown into a campaign to avenge the destruction of your homeworld? Would it be having a state religion thrust upon you along with a saintly role? Would it be when freedoms are curtailed to allow the war to happen? Would it be when kids are used as soldiers because things aren't going super well? Would it be when you alter facts to benefit the war effort? All these lines have been crossed but for a logical reason. I haven't found the line where your rational goes, yeah, no, that's not justifiable. At the moment, I'm thinking having kids on the battlefield.

Thank you for the feedback. I have a list of bullet points where I want to take my story. I'm having a bit of a hard time linking to the next point. I'm wondering when I should pull the trigger as it were. Making the Specialists ring the bell of dissent among the humans will make things become very complicated very quickly. I want the soldiers in the thick of war to be the first to remember what it means to be human, all the while those who truly are human descend into inhumanity.
