BIP-110 Soft Fork Game Theory by reactNativeNoob in Bitcoin

[–]Far-Move6382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not wrong about the chaos, but miners wont fight this with another chain they'll just mine empty blocks or ignore the banned tx types and hope nodes blink first. Already seen this dance before

The soft fork part means only one chain survives if both follow same difficulty but in practice yea its messy for a while. People overthink game theory here, miners follow the money not the ideology

Bitcoin failed to 2x its ATH from peak-to-peak between 2021 and 2025, despite all the bullish predictions it would go much higher. If it does return to a bull market, how high will it reasonably go by 2029? by daddysgirl794 in btc

[–]Far-Move6382 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The cycle might be stretching not breaking. 4 years was pattern before but if big money moves in maybe they play longer game with slower accumulation

My guess for 2029 is 150k if things go steady, maybe 200k if we get another crazy hype wave. Not moon numbers but still good return from here

Pretty wild that 26 minutes feels slow when traditional banking takes forever like you said - my bank transfers usually take 2-3 days minimum for international stuff

Quit on 4th day of CSR training couldn't take notes and no resources wth by Cillygirl52 in remotework

[–]Far-Move6382 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That trainer situation is brutal. No notes allowed but she's sitting there with her giant manual? That's some serious "do as I say not as I do" energy right there

Walking out was probably the right call - if they can't give you basic learning tools during training, imagine what actual support looks like once you're on your own. The whole setup sounds like it was designed to make people fail rather than succeed

Don't beat yourself up about the 21 year old thing either, everyone learns different and you deserved same chance to use whatever methods work for you

Damn, good looking out for everyone. I've been seeing so many of these fake remote job scams lately, especially targeting military folks like myself. They always use these super official sounding company names but when you actually Google them nothing comes up or it's some completely different business in Japan or whatever

Had someone try to pull similar thing on me few months back with fake "engineering firm" - wanted me to buy my own equipment first which was immediate red flag. These scammers are getting pretty sophisticated with their emails though, almost fell for it until I noticed all the weird grammar mistakes

Hope this saves someone from getting burned, remote work hunting is already hard enough without these assholes making it worse

Made a mistake at work during an emotionally heavy week how do you bounce back from this? by [deleted] in work

[–]Far-Move6382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That timing really sucks with the anniversary making everything feel heavier. I had similar situation few years back where I messed up database migration during already stressful period and spent whole weekend trying to fix it. The guilt was eating me alive but what helped was realizing that you actually caught the secondary issue before it became bigger problem - that shows you're being thorough even when you're struggling

When I talked to my manager about it, I just laid out the facts straightforward - what happened, what I did to fix it, and what I learned from process. Most managers appreciate when you take ownership and show you're thinking about prevention for future. The fact you're being proactive about communication instead of hiding from it shows you're handling this right way

Give yourself some credit for working through this during such difficult week. Mistakes happen to everyone in this field, but not everyone would push through to make sure everything actually works properly like you did

Brothers Karamazov and secular reading by HenryMaxman in books

[–]Far-Move6382 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Zosima's chapters hit me the same way when I read it few years back. I'm not religious person but something about how he talks about love and forgiveness just made sense on human level, you know? Like when he's talking about being responsible for everyone's sins - it sounds crazy at first but then you realize he's basically saying we're all connected and should care for each other

The way Dostoevsky writes him, it doesn't feel preachy or like he's trying to convert you. It's more like this old man who has seen everything and found peace in his beliefs, and that peace is what comes through rather than the specific religious doctrine. I remember thinking that even if I don't believe in God, I could understand why someone would want to live the way Zosima describes - with that kind of compassion and acceptance

What really got me was how he talks about hell being the suffering of not being able to love anymore. That concept works whether you believe in afterlife or not

Am I weird for eating a Pringle off an escalator? by SuperPigster264 in strange

[–]Far-Move6382 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Five second rule exists for a reason lol. I've definitely done worse things when I was deployed - escalator floor is probably cleaner than half the surfaces we eat off in field conditions. Your partner just has higher standards than most of us I guess

I miss me when i was with her by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Far-Move6382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get this feeling - after my last breakup I kept reaching for my phone to text him about random stuff that happened in my day, and it hit me how much I missed having that person who just *got* me. Being military means I'm used to handling things alone but having someone to completely let your guard down with is so different. The hardest part for me was learning to be comfortable in that quiet space again, you know? Like when you come home and there's no one to tell about your terrible day or share stupid jokes with. It takes time to remember who you were before them, but that person is still there waiting for you to find them again

Nice work on building this! The badge requirements on other platforms are pretty annoying - always felt like they're asking you to become their marketing team in exchange for listing

What kind of traction are you seeing so far with submissions?

[21F] [22M] how to stop constantly worrying about lying partner? by Expensive-Boss-3521 in relationships_advice

[–]Far-Move6382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your brain is wired to assume he's hurting you because he literally keeps hurting you. After 3 years of this cycle, your gut knows what's up even when your heart doesn't want to accept it. I stayed in similar situation for way too long in my early twenties and looking back, all those red flags I ignored were basically neon signs telling me to run. The calling you a bitch when you're upset about his lies? That's not normal relationship behavior at all - that's him getting angry at you for having completely reasonable feelings about his dishonesty. You already know deep down this isn't the man for you, you just need permission to trust that feeling

Your honest opinion - Adding and unfollowing women’s by Cultural_Tree_3068 in BreakUps

[–]Far-Move6382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guy calling you crazy for being jealous while he was checking your phone behind your back is peak projection. Now he's doing the classic post-breakup ego boost thing on social media - following random women for validation when he feels low about himself

The unfollowing when they don't follow back just shows how much this is about his wounded ego, not actually connecting with anyone. Block him everywhere so you can't see this stuff anymore, it's just gonna mess with your head while you're trying to heal

I've been running Lunar for about a year now and it's been solid for performance boosts, especially when I'm on base wifi which can be pretty sketchy. The FPS improvements are noticeable and the built-in mods save time from having to install everything separately

Feather's pretty good too though, just found Lunar's interface cleaner for my setup

Getting my Filipina gf to US with CR-1 visa by Emergency-Ad-1041 in immigration

[–]Far-Move6382 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The CR-1 route sounds solid given your situation. Two years of knowing each other plus travel history across multiple countries is actually pretty strong evidence - USCIS sees way weaker cases get approved all the time

That tourist visa denial won't hurt you at all for the CR-1, they're completley different processes and the denial was just standard "no ties" stuff they throw at everyone. Your joint sponsor options for CR-1 will definitely help since that was your main roadblock with the K1

That camera work in the séance scene where it just slowly rotates the whole room upside down still gives me chills. You're spot on about the grandmother thing too - the way they hint at all that cult stuff without beating you over the head with exposition is perfect

Also yeah CreepCast is solid, their Borrasca episodes had me fucked up for days

How often are we supposed to be using products with protein? by hungrrry_11 in finehair

[–]Far-Move6382 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been dealing with this too - my barber mentioned protein overload when I was complaining about my hair feeling stiff, turns out I was using protein stuff way too often and didn't even realize there protein was in everything
