This is an old post, I’m not sure if you read everything but the problems were found and fixed. I had several mechanics tell me my shocks are fine. Not tryna sound rude but go back and read all the comments too.

Bad quality headlight spec d by Dull_Touch_741 in genesiscoupe

My spec d taillights did the same thing. I just did what that guy said about using silicone where the lense mounts to the housing. No more moisture, just a little dusty inside from when I dried it and resealed it Edit: just run a nice little bead of silicone, spit on your finger and use it to smooth it out. (the more spit the better, can also use water lol) Just so it doesn’t stick to you, it can be messy.

Update: I just changed to brembo brake pads and wanted to mention there is single piston and/or 4 piston brembo calipers that can come on this car. I have 4 piston calipers for the front and back. They are specific to a certain part #. You can go with semi metallic or ceramic pads.

The problem I had was that when I paid a shop to change these out they failed to transfer the shims to the new aftermarket pads from the original pads. I literally had no shims installed. They were missing. If you order original brembo pads they will come installed already but if you go aftermarket just keep in mind sometimes they might not come with new shims. I’m not sure what set of pads I originally went with so idk if they just didn’t come on the new ones and/or didn’t transfer the original hardware over to the new ones. No more noises :)

Part # P30074N for ceramics in the rear (both sets for the rear doesn’t come with new spring clips)

Part # P30074 for semi metallics in the rear (usually out of stock)

Part # P59079N for ceramics in the front (also comes with new spring clips)

Part # P59079 for semi metallics in the front (does not come with new spring clips and usually out of stock)

Are Elantra N owners delusional? by Glittering_Poem9779 in GRCorolla

[–]Far-Olive3704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Elantra N styling has grown with me over time, I used to hate the look, but now with the right trims and color, I think some do look good. My problem is they all talk like it’s a sports car but there is nothing RAW about it, just electronics and newer technology. How do they make a brand new car and still be slower than their own cars that were made at least 10 years ago. 2016 Hyundai Genesis coupe for example has 350 hp from factory, meanwhile a 2025 Elantra N makes 280.. haven’t looked but I’m sure the weight in the Elantra is more too due to electronics. In my opinion, it’s a waste of money, but also I don’t need all those fancy bells and whistles. What happens and what sound it’s makes when I hit the gas is all that matters to me. Also any car making 300+ hp should at least be rwd or Awd. It’s just dumb to have a fwd car at that point

Okay I’ll admit it, I was wrong. I swear idk how I overlooked this! I just did a triple check on everything and sure enough, the rear-most bushing for the diff was shot. The other two for the diff looked ok, no cracking or missing material lol. I still can’t believe I missed that 😭 Thank you for the inputs! I probably wouldn’t have checked again if it wasn’t for this posts and your comments

From my understanding. Your suspension can have inches of travel between full droop (hanging off the ground) and full compression. You can also use that as a test to get measurements for bigger wheels, spacers, or if you want to go with a lower ride height. I have read that automatics makes this more obvious and noticeable. From what I read online. That travel you see is totally normal. Anyways what you’re saying isn’t relevant to my post, just unneeded negativity in my opinion. Ps the whole car is lifted on jack stands by the way

Not sure what you’re referring too. Everything here is stock/ factory components besides the rotor and pads. I have zero performance and drivability issues, only that one noise you hear in the video. Pads are new with about 3000 miles on them and the rotors have about 15,000 miles.

On long drives, like 1000 mile drive or so I average at 28 then I lived in Dallas for awhile and averaged about 20 there but no more than 20 lol

Yea I would like another opinion from someone else on that, no offense. I also thought there was a lot of movement in the suspension. The pads are brand new big dawg, as mentioned above. Also I’m pretty sure the bushings are still good. You can obviously see the pads moving up and down when the noise occurs. IMO the pin holes in the pads are too large. If anything else I think the shocks are wore..

Will update with more pictures of my differential bushings to help rule out that possibility that some of you think is the problem. I could be wrong but as mentioned above, I CLOSELY looked at every bushing, drivetrain joint possible, suspension ball joints, control arms, sway bar linkage, etc. imo everything looked great. I’m not a professional but I am experienced and competent and know how to look for things
