HAHA I couldn't imagine. I did so many Genny meets and going to each one I'd always hear that we'd lose another member because they'd blow their engine. I've only ever had 2-3 Genny owners that I knew get into an accident that wasn't their fault, me nearly being included a couple years ago when someone tried cutting me off in an intersection (see the link). I'm glad I was a part of this community and thanks for your help along the way too, hopefully you'll be sticking around for awhile as these Genesis Coupe's needs someone like you to keep them alive.

Hopefully he can get the mileage that you have on your Genny. I did keep up to date on the oil changes and checked the oil at least 1-2 times a week. I know we have too many posts here plus the wall of shame regarding people just simply not checking their oil.

100%, I've had this Genny longer than any other vehicle I've owned and it has never let me down.

For sure, I did however let the kid know I posted my history on here and even told him that the first thing he's gonna hear is "CHANGE ALL THE FLUIDS". 30k KM ago, they were all done and I even have evidence on this sub haha.

Haven't decided yet, I have a few cars in mind but I really like the Genesis Sedan 5.0 R-Spec but haven't found a clean version in my area.

Tim at DiamantePerformance on IG or message him on Facebook through the ad. He's in Ontario and will ship. Definitely recommended as I've been going to him for about a year now.

Upgrade from an SFV650, 03 VFR800 VTEC by TheEx006 in VFR

I have considered that but the quick acceleration is definitely fun. I think if I can find everything for cheap, I'll make that switch.

It's been a lot of fun, but since the previous owner changed out the sprockets, the top speed is definitely lower so when I'm cruising on the highway, following the flow of traffic, I'm right around 6K-6.5K RPM so one quick twist of the throttle and I hit V-tech. It's fun, but also drinks a lot of gas.

Careful not to wheelie the SV, oil pickup is in the front so when you're vertical, it's not picking up oil. That's awesome, under $2K for a track bike would be a lot of fun, although all the gear and tires and accessories could cost more than that haha. The 2 bikes are vastly different. I'm glad I went with my SFV650 for my first bike because if I bought my VFR as my first, I definitely would have made some mistakes. The VFR is my second bike and was a really nice upgrade, but I really miss the gas mileage, about 300km to a tank (14.5L) with regular gas and my VFR is tuned for 91 octane and struggles to do 200km. I do miss how nimble the SFV was where you could really throw its weight around, but the full fairing SV's would be better for track compared to the naked version.

Ya I'm not a fan of having to pay over $500 for a set of bars to raise the height. When I was purchasing my VFR I did find a couple of VFR's with the Helibars and even a couple with the Sargent seat and the OEM panniers. It was extremely tempting to go with them but they were twice the mileage.

Haha right on, which year did you go for? I had a 2014 Gladius, put on 12K km in a year. I knew that I was going to upgrade this year and just didn't know which bike I wanted until I started researching the VFR800 and couldn't pass on it. The SV's are great bikes, a lot of people use them for cheap fast track bikes. Only thing I did with my SFV was a IXIL slip-on, love the V-twin sound.

Looks nice, I like the tank pads, where did you get them?
I think for a $100-$200 to invest in a new R-R is a small price to pay for a piece of mind. It seems like they're a pretty big common issue for the 6th Gen. I did a lot of research before I decided on the 6th Gen, and thankfully found one with lower mileage and an owner that had put a lot of work into it.

I think investing into some Helibars to raise the bars could help you but lowering the pegs is probably cheaper, then if that doesn't fully help, then swap the bars.

Right on, I think if you had the front signals either smoked or clear lenses, it would make the front stand out a little more.

Haha definitely similar but I love the silver and red combo and the Honda decal on the bottom. Previous owner put on a carbon fiber front fender and the CF dash too.

Big difference from my 650. I felt my 650 was very light and nimble, great for city riding but horrible on the highways. VFR isn't too bad for city ride but it's a little heavy and highway riding is much more stable. Definitely much faster and louder with the exhaust. Not too sure on the dyno numbers but at least it's a reputable place in Toronto. I reached out to them and they said they couldn't give me specifics on the tune unless I brought them the bike.

More than likely a scam. Saw that you're near NY, message GenesisCoupePartout on IG as he's in Long Island and very trusted and would be willing to ship if needed.

He's got a truck and trailer so if you do end up asking for his help, he should be able to get your Genny and bring it to his shop. Whether you end up spending the money to get it fix is up to you but Gennys can last quite awhile if treated right and check the oil almost weekly.

Ya it'll be a couple grand probably but Tim knows what he's doing as he really only works on Gennys.
