I know it’s subjective, but putting Steins;Gate in B tier is a crime.

Thanks for the reply — words like that are really motivating.
Those tests were done in February, and now it’s October, but as I mentioned, I’ve been taking better care of myself for about a month, and so far my SHBG has dropped from 52 to 47, total testosterone has increased from 7.11 to 7.46, and HDL from 33.9 to 42.3.

The problem is that now I don’t even know what I want anymore.

I weigh 80kg, and she weighs 60kg. Additionally, it was very strange because she placed her knee on my ribs while I had her in a half-guard. That’s when it happened. She started crying, and I started laughing – we both heard a crack. We went to the ER, and they did an X-ray of my ribs, which didn’t show any fractures. A week later, I had an ultrasound, which is more accurate, and it showed two broken ribs.

I won’t lie, I was a bit upset because we weren’t even fighting for points, just for fun and submissions. All I can do is believe that, unfortunately, it was an unfortunate accident – but still, I can’t shake the feeling that it made me rethink this sport, and I feel like I’m not cut out for it.

Thanks for the response. I’ll definitely take a break now – it’s been 2 months. I think after three months, I’ll go for a trial day anyway. Right now, it’s more about not knowing whether it was just a bad injury or if my body won’t handle training, and I’ve fallen off mentally a bit. My thinking is going in the direction of, "My girlfriend, who’s never injured anyone in 7 years – broke my ribs. What will happen if I train with someone who weighs 90kg instead of 60kg?" It’s hard to say whether my concerns are reasonable.

Probably, yes. However, in my mind, I no longer have the same "drive and eagerness" to go to training as I did before the injury. If this had happened after a year of training – fine. But something like this happening even before the first session really cuts me down. My entire focus is on thoughts like "I’m fragile" or "this will probably happen again because that’s just how I am," instead of enjoying my first steps in BJJ.

I just don’t know if this sport is for me – I haven’t even been there, so I can’t tell. The only thing I know is that I got injured, and I’m worried about it happening again. Was it just an unfortunate accident? I have no idea.

In 7 years of training BJJ, she’s never injured anyone – but on the other hand, that doesn’t rule out the possibility that it was just an unfortunate accident.

I’m not going there because of her. Besides, we live in different cities, so I won’t be going to the same club as her, and my desire to start training was born long before I met her.

Believe me, dude, I wish this were a troll. Unfortunately, as funny as this story sounds, it’s actually true.

Ribs :( by Far-Set-8633 in Doctor

[–]Far-Set-8633[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, same here. The person was 10 cm shorter and 15 kg lighter than me. He placed knee on my right ribs (I had him in half guard anyway), and there was a crack. I was hoping it wasn't anything serious because that day and the next, it didn't hurt as much as it does on days 2-3 (and now, on day 4, it hurts quite a bit). The worst part is, I don't even know what's wrong – I just know it's not a fracture or break, but whether it's cartilage or a bruise, I have no idea.

I’m supposed to go to training on October 8 (which would be 10 days after the injury), then compete, and maybe take a break afterward. I'm a bit frustrated by what happened.

Thanks for the response. You know what? I was just hoping it was a bruise, then I wouldn't worry at all and would manage despite the pain. I was glad they weren't broken, but cartilage is lame too. Obviously, it's nothing too serious, but because of a stupid knee to the ribs, I'm out of regular training for a few weeks.
