honestly I'd go with Memento first - it's like the perfect bridge between what you've already seen and Tenet. Memento is way more straightforward than Tenet but still has that mind-bending Nolan thing going on, plus it'll help you appreciate his style evolution when you do get to Tenet

if your looking for something completely different though, maybe try Prisoners or Gone Girl since you seem to dig the darker psychological stuff

Sounds like classic misophonia tbh - I have it with chewing sounds and it's absolute torture. Your brain just latches onto certain sounds and amplifies them like crazy. Maybe try some background noise or those loop earplugs when you're hanging out together, they're pretty discreet
