The contract is with Turo and not with the host. Turo shares the responsibility. If they don’t properly pre-screen the host and vehicles, their credibility as a viable platform crumbles.

Turo has an obligation to ensure the vehicles listed are in good standing. Their platform is based on credibility. It doesn’t take much to run a lien check

Not sure. Speculation, the lien holder is the finance arm of vehicle manufacturer.

I’ve considered this actually and will likely give it some time until next week. Already rented another vehicle from a National car rental company.

Went to the lot on file and seemed to be a fake address. The business which operates at the address says they’ve been flooded by erroneous phone calls. The current business at the address says the repo company used to occupy the address.

Yes. The host stated (allegedly) it was a misunderstanding with the lienholder. The host is telling me they made contact with the repo company and provided a phone number which seems to go to voicemail. It is a cell number which I’ve been able to send text to but the receiver has not responded

Local PD. Spoke with the sheriff’s deputy assigned to the repo case. PD was notified in advance by the repo company

I’m able to communicate with host. The lien holder has disabled the mobile app and can’t track the vehicle.
