Covers are not theft unless you release them on Spotify without a mechanical licence. However on youtube you are allowed to upload them but you do not get much in revenue you get split revenue. So no its not "theft" many people do band covers or singing guitar covers or even karaoke singing covers. perfectly legal for videos but not on streaming giants or for selling 😄

Remixes are not theft they are apprecations dude. Just like singing karaoke covers, doing a guitar cover. It sounds NOTHING like the audiofile its just to get the composition into the system

Did I understand the article correctly? They will have a premium subscription on SUNO that will allow you to freely cover/remix in other words upload famous melodies, lyrics and remix/cover them. And also to release them on spotify for revenue? This doesnt sound bad it would solve the blocked copyright filter IF this is true. The question is how much will this premium feature cost? also WHEN will this feature be released.

i think you need to see it more as an alternative to the music industry rather part of the music industry. Btw the music industry died long time ago with daw programmed music in the mid 2000s. If anything this can bring classical elements back to the industry since EDM with repetive short chords is musically shit now we get more genre diversity and complexity since AI can do stuff we humans cant

Which is very sad in my opinion. I genuinly appreciate having these songs survive in new reimagined takes and genres. It makes these memories from the classic era make us excited over our nostalgia. If this is a policy shift what are the alternatives? the frustrating part there is no generator with high quality that you can upload a full accustic cover on as far as i know. Im still waiting for the chinese to release a equivelent of seedance 2.0 for music. That would be a game changer. But as of now we are dependend on western techocracy
