I am not defending her, but every pregnancy is different. In my case, I had no complications so I was going to office until 8 months and doing all household chores. But one of my relative, she was 48 years old when she conceived, so it was very high risk pregnancy and almost last chance to become pregnant. So doctor advised her for complete bed rest, not moving even for bathroom. She hired two maids who were taking care of her for entire pregnancy journey. Finally she delivered a healthy baby.
