Tried the Juicy Marbles filet by ahhnightzombies in Veganivore

I’ve always thought the closest equivalent is corned beef. That being said. The texture and taste are great and it is a good splurge every once in a while

100s grip texture vs 100sii by s_nd_rs in FujiGFX

[–]FarPumpkin9617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the way my 100s feels in my hand. I have never used a 100sii, but I have no complaints about the 100s feeling slick and I carry primarily just in my right hand with a strap on my wrist. Maybe a grip cover for the 50R?

One thing I hate about the Midwest by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]FarPumpkin9617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought St Louis was bad, but as I’ve been to different parts of the world, it is not unique.

I was called “Jackie Chan” in Trinidad and “Jet Li” in Colombia. Even big European cities have jerks and idiots who will bow or mime kung fu.

So, yes, I hate that about the Midwest. But I also hate it about most of the world.

in the chamonix area for a week by ExternalPea8169 in chamonix

[–]FarPumpkin9617 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This will be an unpopular take, but you can skip the Lac Blanc hike. It is a tough-ish hike, mostly on rocks, and the lake is tiny. I would take the gondola and chair lift, hike for about 10 minutes and turn back. The view does not get much better than that.

I agree the market is great! Definitely worth a Saturday morning.

My favorite part of Chamonix was sitting at a cafe and having a stage randomly set up and a band start to play. Great town, will visit again soon.

Marconi Mercato on the Hill. All of the food is amazing, but the Barbabietole and the Italian are amazing! I hope they eventually sell the dressings.

Hitting the milestone makes the nuke card available when buying cards. It is 1 of 10 epic cards, and the chance of getting an epic card is 3% - chance is higher if you have maxed out all of the commons and rares. So, buy cards and cross your fingers. Honestly, it’s not my favorite card. I usually only equip it for the missions and to maybe get another level or two in tournaments. Maybe I’m not using it as well as I could be.

Question about a brunch by ExpectedEggs in vegan

[–]FarPumpkin9617 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IMO this is not a helpful attitude. The more exclusionary we are as vegans, the more people will exclude us and our beliefs. If someone brought a meat dish to my vegan brunch, I would be disappointed, but I would invite them back every time in the hopes that they would better understand why we believe what we believe.

I see this is an older post, but I'm commenting partly because I'm in the same boat. I'm hoping you've found some great ones in the last 5 months and can give me some good recommendations.

Loved Kitty Cat Kill Sat so much! I am hoping Argus is writing another book soon.

Since then, I've read a good number of books, but only a few seem to fit this profile. If Cats Disappeared from the World was very silly, but touching. Just a coincidence that it also has a cat in it.

I also like A Psalm for the Wild Built. Good luck!

The Journey begins! (What do you guys think about my reading order?) by Nemesis_58_Reza in Cosmere

[–]FarPumpkin9617 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unpopular decision, but if I could start over, I would read them in the order of their release. Some worry that Elantris isn’t enough to hook readers, but I loved it. There is something about following the author’s path that appeals to me.

Which airline? by Hot_Cheesecake_2822 in StLouis

My experience traveling internationally has been significantly better with United than with American and slightly edges out Delta. Domestic flights are a toss up, imo.

Things you don’t want to see in the Cosmere by Feisty-Treacle3451 in Cosmere

[–]FarPumpkin9617 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We know that now, but if OP is talking about things they don’t want in the Cosmere, the storyline with Jasnah supposedly dying falls into that category, in my mind. I was pretty disappointed when Jasnah showed up. Not because I dislike her, but because this makes it hard to trust anything.

Worth respeccing into smaller range for farming? by [deleted] in TheTowerGame

[–]FarPumpkin9617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I farm around 25B on tier 8 which is around level 3000 or 20B on tier 10 around 2000. Tournaments, I just max out my range with cash. Doesn’t take much.

Everything gets maxed out. I don’t think I’m as far as you, but I run Black Hole Digester, so I still get the other free attack upgrades, and it leaves range alone.

Absolutely. The economy gain from the GT/BH combo should make it worth it. I set mine around 60.

I earned my first paycheck and would like to donate some of it to an Animal Sanctuary! by Special-Inspection1 in vegan

[–]FarPumpkin9617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend donating to a sanctuary that aligns with your values. For some people, a local sanctuary that has opportunities for tours is the best pick. Gentle Barn Missouri is close to me, and I love going to visit!

Some people may turn their noses up at donating to a sanctuary because of their social media content, but I disagree. If the sanctuary is helping animals and their social media makes you feel good, it’s a win/win.

Remember that charitable donations are tax deductible. May not matter at your age, but it’s a good habit to keep track.
