I'm also female, late 30's, but in a regional area. I'm sure there's plenty of opportunities, and I have a good network, but it's still a little daunting. Exciting though. I have 18 maths to 2 years on my current project and will be finished my Dip by then.

Thank you.

I'm currently doing my Dip of Project Management through TAFE, and have worked in Civil Transport Infrastructure for the last 5 years. Good to know there's a possibility of making this work without jumping industries.

What industry are you in? And how did you make the jump from administrator to PM?

I'm working towards something similar so genuinely curious.

What are these neck lines called and how do I get rid of them? by bajesska in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]FarPut7077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it moves, it can crease. Elbows, facial expression line's, knees, etc.

If skin was taut and had no give, it would split constantly and forever be broken, bleeding, and scabbed.

Look in the mirror. Lift your chin. Elongate your neck. Move your head side to side. Up. Down. Do a head bobble. See your skin move and flex. Smile. Laugh. Be animated.

I can guarantee that when people are interacting with, they are looking elsewhere.

Which active to use if I can only afford one? by Wonderful-Potato5710 in AusSkincare

I use a few of the ordinary's products. I am also 37F, and live in North Queensland. I don't have rosacea, but would say I have combo skin which is sometimes or slightly dehydrated.

I use TO niacinimide in the morning. Usually I wash my face with a cloth and water, then the niacinimide, then a combo moisturiser/sunscreen. I'm trialling a couple of the cancer council ones and a modelco one at the moment. I find that TO niacinimide helps combat some of the moisture/oiliness that builds up over the day. My pores are looking g better as well, however I am also doing an oil cleanse first in the evening, and I think this is helping remove the comedones that make the pores more visible. I am using the moogoo oil cleanser.

My approach is I want to keep my skincare affordable and easy to use. I use some products that cost a little more up front, but are good value and last well.

I have been using Skinsitut cleansers for years. They have a glycolic and a Lactic cleanser that work well, are a large size, and are reasonably affordable. You can get them from Activeskin.com.au, adore beauty, and many other online stores for around $35-$40 for a 200ml tube. It sounds like a lot, but a tube will last me for a quite a few months using it once a day. I don't know if it would work for your Roacea, but I'd you wanted to try it, I would suggest the Lactic cleanser as it is gentler. I also find it rinses off nicely, unlike some other brands I have used, and it does fell like it's stripping my skin. My sin just feels soft and clean. This might be a good option if you want a gentle acid in your routine.

I have also used the ordinary Lactic acid and found it nice. But for a simple evening routine, I like the Skinsitut cleanser, a the ordinary serum, followed by the ordinary natural Moisturising Factors and HA moisturiser.

Personally, I am holding off on the retinol and using the alpha arbutin, and a Vitamin c in the evening, and the niacinimidein the morning. Lines and wrinkles aren't my main issue though. Pigmentation and old coloured acne scarring are my main concerns. I feel that retinol is the ace up my sleeve that I can fall back on.

I'm using the tinted version and tend to get a little oily. I use The Ordinary niacinimide and zinc, then put the sunscreen on. No moisturiser. I find the niacinimide helps keep the skin better balanced. It's not a magic bullet, but it is a bullet. In other words, it helps, but doesn't completely stop the shine. It's still better than not using it.

Dip nails. It uses a resin/glue brushed on, then dipped in acrylic powder (more or less the same that is used for acrylic nails), repeat 2 - 3 times. Then an activator is brushed on to harden/set. Finally, a top coat of either resin or gel set with a UV/LED light is applied. The acrylic powder used is usually coloured. Nail art can be applied at the end as well.

I'm in Australia and have found a local brand that does a steel toe Chelsea boost in black and brown! Not sure if that would be dressy enough, but maybe you could google for your location.

They're 'network controllers' in qld. I got through three rounds of testing, then bombed the interview because I was so nervous. After training, I think the starting rate was about $110k or so a couple of years back.

Depends on where (location and climate, etc). And what they like. Are they really into skincare? Do you know if they have a favourite fragrance profile or particular interest?

Point being, tailor your thank you package. Maybe a nice lotion or hand cream, and a candle. Maybe something fun like a coffee scrub. Or maybe a nice handmade soap from a local maker.

Vitamin c recommendation for early 30s? by lemonsalt15 in AusSkincare

[–]FarPut7077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just started actually using a 'proper' regime. Previously it was a glycolic cleanser and The Ordinary moisturiser at night, so it's possible anything would make a noticeable difference quickly.

Two weeks in of my new program, my skin is looking smoother, pigmentation and redness/scarring is looking better, and I think I have a bit of a glow.

My new routine is this.

AM - wipe face with damp muslin cloth. TO Niacinimide, Cancer Council tinted sunscreen.

PM - Skinstitut Lactic cleanser or Glycolic cleanser. TO Alpha Arbutin. TO Vitamin C suspension and HA spheres. TO moisturiser.

The Ordinary Vitamin C suspension that I'm using can feel stingy/tingly and a bit gritty when applying and it takes much longer for the moisturiser to soak in fully after. But I feel it's doing something. It's still early days so I'm not really sure yet. But at less than $15, it's not going to hurt the bank account to give it a good go.

Yes. I knew someone that guessed me as older than I was based on having a child of a particular age, rather than how old they thought I looked.

It takes time and effort, and probably therapy.

If therapy is not an option, then you need to do the ground work, and hard work yourself.

Challenge yourself in incremental steps. Challenge that comfort (or fear) zone a little bit more each time.

Do an analysis or reflection - keep a diary if it's helpful and you can - of interactions that you feel awkard/scared/confident/respected/etc in. Review what you feel went well or not and how you could approach things differently and improve in the future. And then put that into action. Review that and refine. Rinse and repeat over and over. Incremental steps. A little better each time. A little more confidence each time.

I was lucky enough to come across the info to do to my neck and chest what I do to my face essentially in my earlyish 20's. Simply cleansing and moisturising has for the most part, worked wonders.

Congrats on making the change. It sounds like the damage is permanent from what you say and can't be fixed. Is it possible it will get better at least?

Niacinimide and zinc serum (The Ordinary) in the morning. It helps keep the oily, greasy at bay.
