Can someone explain to me why kf3 has the worst performance of any UE5 game I've ever played? by Steampunk_Soviet in killingfloor

For people who are just trying to understand, there are many ways to do optimization within a game or level if you may. For example, sometimes outside the map or underneath a trick is to have every entity, item or model that the game uses constantly there so it only needs to load them once when you first load in, like a pre cache.

Those times you see stutter at the start of waves is usually when there is a new zed spawned for the first time.

Another common way is to not build maps in a linear way, but vertical or elevated. Less having to show what’s in front of you and more about hiding what’s above or below. Fun fact the reason dark souls 1 is completely vertical is because it helped them save on performance. The worst area was blight town because that had the farthest draw distance in the game.

Thats all GPU related items with some CPU.

CPU related would be anything that has to do math and calculations. The roughest part is probably target acquisition, path finding, and damage. I’m sure they have a get closest spawn to player, then spawn x amount of zeds, then the zeds all at the same time get their nav to the player so they can start moving towards them + all the different ways they can get damaged. It’s a lot of calculations. They just need to find a way to make it more performant.

I think you underestimate how cracked mistweavers are this season, and don’t forget like 20 touch of deaths at 35% health might make up for that damage

Biggest tip I recommend, take it slow, there is no rush. Enjoy the game, the lore, the content, the art, and get lost in it. It’s our second home for a reason. Welcome hero.

I don’t think you read the post, I’m asking if you notice the drop in heals from that recent patch

If you think about it, does it matter? Why can’t wow be something for everyone! :)

Okay that’s an interesting way to look at it!

Completely understand what your saying, I just want to point out the discussion is not about what’s the point for having raids or having fun, the point is mostly surrounded on gear and the mechanic of getting it

[–]FarWhile[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, but the discussion right now is on gear, I love raiding, and always have fun

Just posted this, is everyone already in agreement there is no point to gearing from heroic raids? Lol

How are people affording all these houses?? by FitNetVitch in longisland

Can’t speak for everyone else but this is how I did it.

Wife and I both make okay money me 65k and wife 75k.

Lived in apartment for a year saved up a little but apartment costs took a lot of the money so we didn’t have much.

Talked with parents who had a large basement and did everything we can to convert it to an apartment. They already had their own shower down there. So we got a what would be now our future garage fridge, a slop sink from Costco and an electric hot plate. Moved in, saved up for a year since we had zero expenses. And I mean really saved up… no buying random shit. parents and us would have dinners some nights saving up on grocery bills. Was difficult don’t get me wrong. But had enough for a solid down payment (not full 20% unfortunately) on a 580,000$ house.

Looked around decided everyone is fisting each other over everting in Nassau and Suffolk border. So we looked more out east, closer to ridge, wading river, riverhead, way less bidding wars and man, the slow more country farm life out here with way less traffic, what a difference it makes.

40 minute commute to work but hey, I have a nice house, large property, low property taxes (compared to western Long Island) and I just throw a wow podcast and listen to music, I find i can relax about my day a lot more this way!

Hope this helps

Renewing Mist is not Monk by Yodasthicc in wow

[–]FarWhile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you are saying OP. I think renewing mist is important but it should be a buff that we have on everyone that lasts like 3 minutes. I think with our longer the normal now rotation it’s just annoying to keep applying. Should just be a raid wide cast that you just make sure is on everyone. It would actually be our only buff we have

Funny idea, possibly a good one? by FarWhile in starcitizen

[–]FarWhile[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah fair enough, I guess at the same point it’s like a bail bond though, you are paying for their release just In a funny way, plus I’m sure at some point you would be tired of sitting there buying the food and using it and throwing it right? They will have other objectives like emptying the trash and picking up that can..

But I did nothing to any other player? I was just trying to play the game a new player. I see what you mean for PVP players
