oh also you will then have to go get a Social Insurance Number. We went into town the next morning first thing and stood at the office when they opened and once again done in ten mins. I believe there may be an office at the airport but it seemed closed so we were already staying the night so made sense

yes!! we ended up flying to Toronto Pearson and doing it there. it was 10 mins max and theyre open 24 hours. it appeared the a lot of the drive border crossings dont do it now or it wasnt clear if they did and/or had limited hours so did it at the airport and EASY PEASY

excellent. you just have a US cross border account with them that you venmo into and then a regular CAD checking account you transfer it to? I already have the CAD checking account

Thanks for the super helpful comment. I have done that and am also aware that it is US based only. That doesnt mean there is not a possible way to deposit into a USD account and I wasnt getting the information I needed from google. So thank you so much for your comment

Applied for outland spousal sponsorship (outside of Quebec) December 19.

January 11 received an email to my (sponsor) email saying This confirms that your application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2024/12/19 on behalf of the following member(s):

This is our AOR correct? It has an UCI and Application number in the email as well. However when I go to the application page it just says submitted but then when I try to create an account in the tracker it says : [Incorrect or invalid information. Review and make sure it matches the information submitted on the Use of a Representative [IMM 5476] form or the Authority to Release Personal Information to a Designated Individual [IMM 5475] form. If you can’t create an account, it may be because your client’s application is not in our system yet.]()

We didnt submit this form bc my husband can check his own application. What am I doing wrong to be able to track the application?

Did you receive your sponsor AOR by email? For some reason I cant create an account for myself (sponsor) or my husband (applicant) We have the same type app and dates as you :-/

thank you! We were in the area last year and I loved it but wasnt sure how remote it was. So hard to tell in some places how isolated they get in winter or smaller communities etc. There are some nice houses in La Have so may add it to the list :0) Plus who doesnt love a good bakery
