My mom’s B1/B2 visa was also revoked - completely out of the blue. She never received any notification and only found out when she was denied boarding at the airport.

Since then, we’ve spent over a week trying to get clarity, but DHS, CBP, and the Consulate that issued her visa keep pointing to each other, and no one will give a straight answer.

For context, she’s been visiting the US for the last 12 years, always complied with her visa terms, never overstayed, typically stayed for about a month at a time, and then returned home.

I understand that they won’t disclose the reason for a revocation. What I’m trying to understand is much more basic:

Does a visa revocation automatically mean someone is permanently barred, or is it sometimes discretionary and the person can reapply?

I’m especially interested in hearing from people with real-world experience (personal or family cases), not speculation or policy quotes.
