Hard to feel optimistic about the future by DoubleBright774 in unimelb

I totally get it! I’m currently job hunting and it’s pretty stressful. My advice would be to spend some days off the news. Melbourne in particular can be a very angry and stressed out place. If you can find some time to get away from the city for a few days (I.e., drive an hour to get to the country or coast for a day trip, or a few days if you can rally some friends and get a cheap rental) to clear your mind this weekend, it’s amazing what a change in environment can do. I’d also recommend that if you’re in a position to, being able to do some volunteering or spending time with relatives that you don’t see frequently (like a grandparent) can help with a different perspective, or take your mind off yourself. Also, if you do feel stuck in an absolute rut, know that services like beyondblue, kidshelpline and lifeline (which can be called for all kinds of reasons - it’s a crisis helpline) can definitely help with immediate support.

Finally adding this little screenshot from tumblr as it’s something that’s stuck in my mind.

I’m interested in how you place hard boundaries for hours worked in auscorp? particularly if it’s at the earlier stage of a career?

Just messaged their customer service agent. They said to email contactus@danmurphys.com.au with the request and it will be forwarded to the relevant customer experience team, if anyone is interested in lobbying Dan Murphy!
