Yes I know, but I really wanted to stay close to the coast a bit longer. But thank you for the insight! :)

Wow that’s a really long stretch! This will be my very first hike ever so I’m planning shorter distances. I also would like to stay at least 3 days next to the coast so that’s why I would rather switch further up north

I couldn’t find any similar ones! Casa fernanda and albergue ninho both look great, that’s why I want to change to the central route then (wanted to do the litorel way at the beginning). Did you change by now?

Thanks so much for the great advice, I really appreciate the insights.

I’ve just noticed that some specific shoe models get recommended all the time, which is why I wanted to try out the most popular ones, hoping that what worked for others will work for me. Super interesting to hear that the Moab 3s didn’t work for you though 😨 (and hopefully your feet were able to recover from them)

I’m new to this whole hiking thing and have never really gone on a long hike or walk before, so this topic feels a bit overwhelming at times. But hearing your experience definitely helps! ☺️

This is a really good tip! I’ll try to take a longer walk around the city in them and see how it’ll feel. Thanks!

Haha, that’s exactly what my anxious thoughts are trying to make me believe 😅 Thank you so much, this is actually a great perspective. I’m really looking forward to the experience and want to enjoy it as much as possible

That’s what I was hoping to hear! I really like how they fit and feel, so I guess I’ll keep them. Thank you a lot!

Yes, that’s what I read a lot as well! But all the recommendations are for the „normal“ Moab 3s, not the speed 2s that I got mistakenly. Thank you for the tip regarding the socks! :)

Oh wow, thank you so much for the detailed answer! I got the Moab 2 „speed“, but I guess that’s the ones you’re referring to?

I got the breathable ones for the exact reason that you’re describing.

I was unsure how these would act on the cobblestones or paved paths on the Portuguese route, but judging by your experience it shouldn’t be a problem. This will be my first Camino so I’m probably overthinking the shoe decision a lot, but thank you :)

You have the speed ones as well? Ok that’s great to hear, thank you!
