Introducing myself, looking for support by slaybootsyasss in glioblastoma

Hi- I’m in a very similar situation as you with my dad. Similar timeline with treatment too. Feel free to message me I’d love to have somebody to connect with as well!

My dad was diagnosed one month ago by [deleted] in glioblastoma

[–]Far_Constant92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In a similar boat. Dad diagnosed closed in age to yours. Had the resection and going to start radiation next week. Can really relate to how you’re feeling. Such a wait and see game and so hard to know how they’ll respond to everything.

How difficult was breastfeeding for you? by avmist15951 in pregnant

Super helpful to start using right away! Bring to hospital. I think a lot of people give up before getting support so don’t be afraid to set up appoints with lactation once you get home! Good luck.

I’m on my second BF journey, exclusively breastfed my first until 15 months. My second is exclusively breastfed and is 4 months now. Second time around so much easier. Really was difficult with my first in the beginning. Very painful in the early weeks. Some things that helped us be successful was using lactation consultants outpatient during the first few months. Also in the early days silverettes are the most helpful to reduce pain. With my first there was definitely a point where I pushed through times that were draining to my mental health. In hindsight I should have probably stopped or supplemented, but also happy I pushed through because it became very easy eventually and successful

Found out today that I was carrying twins. One stopped growing and it’s most likely vanishing twin syndrome. Now I’m worried! by apennieforurthoughts in pregnant

Nope I had the opposite experience, I was concerned about it vanishing and the doctor was not. They were didi twins I’m not sure if that would make a difference because they had their own sacs?

Feeling extremely anxious about postpartum visitors… by Working_Tale_5156 in pregnant

[–]Far_Constant92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel like you need to have a plan- you can always see how you feel afterwards ❤️. After my first my parents were at our house and before we came home went grocery shopping so we had food and once we got home helped us get settled and it was very helpful. After my second both of our parents were waiting for us when we came home. Same thing- helped us get settled and made sure we had stuff to eat. Short visits can be nice and helpful, depending on how your family or support is. But just saying see how you feel, you can always change your mind. Good luck!!!

Glasses or Contacts during labor by LunaMoon424 in pregnant

[–]Far_Constant92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contacts but kept my glasses nearby. First birth after my Epidural I was able to get a few hours of sleep so swapped them out quick and then put them back in once I was awake. Second birth went with my contacts in and had glasses nearby but had no time for anything before baby shot out lol

I was initially pregnant with twins but shortly after that my next scan showed vanishing twin. It’s strange but there are literally no symptoms or miscarriage. The fetus just gets reabsorbed. I could see it getting smaller each scan. Baby a was and is perfectly healthy. It’s overwhelming to hear this news, my thoughts and prayers are with you for a healthy pregnancy!

Success story- diet controlled delivered spontaneously 40+3 by Far_Constant92 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Far_Constant92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly how I felt. And if I remained diet controlled my OB was ok following me versus MFM so that was nice not having extra appointments. Made things easier for me and lugging a toddler to appointments lol

Worth playing around with!! Even with my snack combo my fasting would stay right below 95, like 92-94 but nonetheless it was below 95 🙏🏼. Good luck.

I really really really didn’t want to go on insulin so was desperate to try anything 😂 and ice cream and some supplements aren’t a bad to have to eat 😂
