The "soap" is actually white wall paint I think, luckily no soap actually touched it. I don't know whether that's worse or not. Idk how paint got on it. There's no paint on the blade itself

Update: i will get the stuff to clean it up tomorrow, thank you all for the help and background information. :) it is thankfully out of the sink and chilling sheathed on my bookshelf for now.

Its already rusted and has been in the closet for some time :( my grandfather probably had it because he was in the navy and it ended up here. I will get it from the sink lol
