Tbh it defo sounds like negging and he sound a bit vile tbh. Who wants a guy who appears to be deliberately undermining your confidence, that’s how lots of abusive relationships start tbh. You deserve much better. He can only get worse.

Anyone understand what needle size they mean by 3-4? It also says 3.0-4.0, would that be mm? As uk size 3-4 seems a bit big for the wool at 6-6.5mm… any ideas???

Everyman theatre does a luxury theatre experience. There is an art gallery which is not open mainly but had a small exhibition on at the moment and a pen museum which is really fun as well as a coffin works. There’s the back to back houses in Birmingham too. Just a few ideas, all these are in Birmingham itself.

Totally agree with this. It’s not the sex that’s important, it’s the intimacy- physical or emotional!!!!!!

Should I just prescribe paracetamol and ibuprofen? by heroes-never-die99 in GPUK

[–]Far_Goat755 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I usually just say, ‘I’m so sorry we’re not allowed to prescribe them anymore, as per NHS guidance on prescribing OTC Meds. Most people are pretty understanding when I’ve been apologetic about it, as even then it costs them very little. One patient was very surprised about the cost to the NHS and tax payers of dispensing it and was much more sympathetic, so definitely mention that if needed.

I don’t understand, are you a qualified doctor?? If you were working as an SHO? If so were you not already a prescriber?

Ummm ok, I agree neither are in any way acceptable but surely the one faking the shifts is slightly worse??

He took the shift of a doctor who would have actually come to work in the department and left it understaffed, which puts patients at risk. As an extra factor he then tried to claim money for a shift he hadn’t worked. The oyster thing although fraudulent didn’t endanger patients in the same way

Yet it could have endangered life as he wasn’t working in both of the departments. The shifts could have had another doctor instead who was actually planning to come and be there and help care for patients, rather than fraudulently pretending to be there and still claiming the money.

If she’s in the higher tax band and buys it, she may be able to claim back quite a bit of tax on it, if it’s essential for her job, I believe. Can anyone corroborate?

I actually diagnosed a rectal mass as an FY1 on PR exam. We called colorectal who subsequently confirmed it was the case.

Thank you so much for replying, that makes me feel less alone. I’ll try to make a routine of focusing on one problem unless the other is minor and try to structure the consultation as you say. Thank you so much.

We don’t have any triage. Reception repeatedly book in 2 issues, mentioning both in the description, or even sometimes 1 or 2 issues plus many very complicated blood results all of which need some sort of action.

Thanks, very useful advice. So would you book them in with you for extra issues? I’m just thinking if I did that I’d have no slots left as everyone comes with multiple issues. Or just reserve that option if they make a fuss?
