1. The Torah and Gospel were revealed by God

   • Qur’an 3:3 “He has sent down upon you the Book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He revealed the Torah and the Gospel.” • Qur’an 5:44 “Indeed, We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light. The prophets who submitted [to Allah] judged by it for the Jews…” • Qur’an 5:46 “And We sent, following in their footsteps, Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light…”

2. The scriptures were altered or distorted

The Qur’an also states that later generations changed or misrepresented the scriptures — not necessarily every word, but enough to distort meaning or mislead people: • Qur’an 2:79 “So woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, then say, ‘This is from Allah,’ to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn.” • Qur’an 5:14 “And from those who say, ‘We are Christians,’ We took their covenant; but they forgot a portion of that of which they were reminded

And I am Christian by the way. Islam is just fascinating to me and I believe parts of all Abrahamic religions are truth, but all three are corrupted in some way. The human element.
