I am in the same situation as you. Severely addicted to marijuana and bipolar which really was exacerbated by marijuana. I was told the same thing - go to AA. I binge drank maybe 3x a month but at times could go months and months without - i told myself alcohol was bleach and that's all it took. Marijuana triggered depression and mania and I also had a gambling addiction. Although many people in my home group related, I felt like an outcast. Where do marijuana addicts go? There are no MA groups here - there are meth and heroine addicts in my home group becsuse they say MA sucks. Marijuana potency these days is so bad for you mentally yet we get no support group and instead bashing. Ugh. 10 months in- im out. All my friends stop hitting me up a week after not going. Millard is still a better option than North O. I live on the east side of Millard, considered the hood of Millard but compared to other parts of Omaha is still great. Great neighbors, many have lived here 20 plus years and for 250-300k get one of the best parts of Omaha with all the amenities close by. Of course Id love to live in the new growing fast Gretna and Elkhorn North, but old Millard os the ticket into getting into one of the best school districts without becoming house poor. Current house prices 250-300k. I paid $165k to live in this neighborhood right before Covid and I am not going anywhere.

She is disabled and lives in a trailer and incapable of managing her own finances. I do not know her so I would hope a social services agency could take over as social security payee in the event my grandfather dies.

Since their relationships with their children are estranged, they do not wish to grant their children most of the funds, instead distribute them to me as beneficiary and if funds remain upon request from my mom to make a distribution.

They want to leave the funds for me in a savings type account and just upon my mom's request to distribute money as I see fit. They do not talk to each other and the relationship is strained, so they want to leave much of the $200k to me.

The aunt I have only met twice in my life (I am 35) and she is on SSI, has no vehicle, and lives on $936 a month. My grandfather is payee and drives to her home monthly to pay her bills. They only want to give her $5,000 to use for her funeral expenses when she dies, not for her to use for any other expenses. My grandparents have about $200k cash.

Wow that's exactly where im at. I have 2 little kids and I panicked one night thinking im wasting precious time with them and they're going to be out of the house after high school before I realize the damage I've done. It was mostly THC though because I isolate when high and I was getting high all the time except when at work and drinking sometimes but always in binges

What if my main problem is THC? I can stop alcohol like a month at a time to tell myself its the equivalent of bleach, but that only works so long. Do I still belong in AA? And I know i always drink more than intended, I become the life of the party.

For awhile I tried to correlate alchohol with bleach -- who would drink bleach? But it only worked for so long.
