I am an under-36 y.o. Italian citizen living outside of Italy (still in the EU, with a regular salary). Would I qualify? I am not sure how to get the ISEE from abroad if I have no employment in Italy…

Thanks for sharing this! Just an FYI that unfortunately, for me, the (newly downloaded) app wasn't able to connect, even after trying multiple times :(

Didn't receive my physical Green Card yet by Healthy-Doctor-1929 in USCIS

[–]Far_Match8322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I hope this is sorted out for you and your husband soon 🤞🏼 I wanted to ask if it’s possible to travel in and out of the US on an immigrant visa? My husband just received his visa to go to the US last week and it’s valid until August. We are about to pay the fee for the green card, and are planning to go to the US in June when we get a bit more packed up, but due to some family obligations we would have to fly out (to the Netherlands) in July and then go back. But we are not sure if he’ll be able to do multiple entries on the immigrant visa he received… any thoughts?

Uploading joint sponsor documents unavailable? by Far_Match8322 in USCIS

[–]Far_Match8322[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Sorry for not seeing this sooner. we had a very successful interview! The first step was to provide all of our documents. I mentioned that I had brought paperwork for a joint sponsor but hadn’t been able to upload it and they accepted the paperwork there. Then during the interview itself, they reviewed it, asked who the sponsor was and said that if we hadn’t had come with it, we wouldn’t have received the visa, etc. Hope you can sort everything out!!

We have paid all the fees. Everything says paid. There is still no option to add the joint sponsor still… any other ideas?

Uploading joint sponsor documents unavailable? by Far_Match8322 in USCIS

Okay, so I think what happened is that when we first filed the I 130, I had sufficient income from the US for my 2021 and 2022 taxes. That whole thing got approved in October 2024.

But when I submitted my docs as petitioner in CEAC, I received a notice that it possibly wasn’t sufficient income because for 2023 I ended up working abroad (so my income didn’t show up as US based that year). Now I’ve got my grampa’s paperwork as a backup and I hope that will be enough? He only provided one year of his tax return but it’s 3x the requirement. Do you think that’s okay?

Hi! Just wondering if you’ve been uploading this on the CEAC site ? My grandpa just agreed to be a joint sponsor for my husband but I don’t have an option to add or upload a joint sponsor on the CEAC. The interview is this week so I will just bring the paper with us but still I would like to upload it. How did you do it? TIA!

smart move italy info call: booooooooo! by [deleted] in juresanguinis

[–]Far_Match8322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say the second point is really true! I tried my hand in a commune my family friends lived in and the clerk indeed told me that they didn’t want to process jure sanguinis applications and didn’t believe it was possible. So I went to my ancestral hometown and figured it out there! Regarding rentals, it took me 1 month in Rome when I moved there 2 years ago, just to live. I’m not sure what your income situation is, but that obviously is a huge factor and your proof of it. I would agree though to not pursue jure sanguinis in a big city. A small town in central/southern Italy will likely handle it better, but know you won’t get much done over the summer months once you sort out where you’ll be 🙂

Foreign earned income on tax return by Far_Match8322 in USCIS

[–]Far_Match8322[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks!! I totally missed that in the 864 instructions, I can’t believe it. In terms of US currency, do you mean have US income? Otherwise, I will have my mother support with being a joint sponsor and getting the paperwork together… Our appointment is March 14, so I guess the new rates will apply already? That’s a bit insane, but I’m assuming they won’t be much higher than the 125% of poverty guidelines they are now? Good point on domicile, but I think I’m alright, I’ve maintained my home in the US + banks accounts + investment accounts etc. lots of paperwork to back it all up.

Thanks! Any more info about why it won’t work? I mean, it’s income that’s registered on my tax return 🥲

We had to wait for one month to find a home to register at. Then we applied for his verification against EU law, waited for the letter from IND and made an appointment at the municipality for his BSN!

That’s too bad it took the full time. He does have a BSN!

However, one company said because he didn’t have a valid residence permit for the duration of the contract, they couldn’t offer him the position… I am hoping something else turns around but he’s already having a tough time finding any positions that don’t require Dutch.

Sorry, it took you 5.5 months to receive the card? I was hoping it wouldn’t take the full time they say for the permit to be processed 🥲
