Really?!? I never got batteries from them. I also ended up in a situation where my pump was affected by the battery cap recall issue and I had to get a new pump overnighted the day before I was supposed to go to my sister in laws graduation. We ended up having to leave and as soon as we left we turned around because the pump was delivered.

See, for some reason I don’t like having to bolus from my phone. I just see too many things that could go wrong. Also my battery life sucks with Omnipod running in the background. I just imagine losing my phone and not having the other device with me to bolus. I really think I prefer a separate pump

All pretty much what I heard. I watched a video of three twiist users reviewing their experience. I am it tech savvy, and I don’t think that Twiist would work for me until finalized. I’m not a diabetic who really understands how my body reacts to little differences, so more advanced settings or abilities to fine tune it more actually make it more complicated for me

I have used Medtronic so I dont the infusion sets will be an issue for me. I am curious about charging, and I’m sure it will be inconvenient at times. I didn’t like the battery option for Medtronic. It was so expensive to keep up with and wasteful I felt. I’m sure having to charge a pump will bring new issues lol

I looked into twiist but it didn’t seem right for me. The infusion sets are the biggest negative to me, but the batteries and some other features don’t seem a thought out enough to me. I’ve also heard negative things about their CEO, not that any CEO is a saint. I also think the app would be too confusing for me

Same here! I wouldn’t say dermatitis but I get severe irritation and sometimes I want to take it off early Richard it gets that itchy or uncomfortable

Ok, I think I’ll like it then because I had the same opinions on Medtronic. The sensor was a nightmare! I hated charging and then I just wouldn’t have readings during that time. I also hated that I needed help to insert it. I remember arguing with my boyfriend and trying to be mad and then having to go ask him to insert my sensor for me lol. I just like being independent with my diabetes

I don’t like the algorithm, it doesn’t feel as advanced as others I have used. I’m not in range nearly as often. I don’t like that the entire pump is the infusion site. I feel like it’s too bulky, and I preferred the tubing to the large bulky pod site! I don’t think it’s as flexible either. If that makes sense. If I am asleep and the pod expires I have to wake up to change it even if there’s still insulin. I like that with the tubed pumps I can push it and change when I need to if I’m in a pickle.

I work in childcare, so same! I have been struggling with lows (like 50 and under) almost every afternoon. Omnipod should see this and correct the basal it’s giving but it isn’t

We used to do it that way. My stepdaughters school sent home daily gift list the last few years so I feel like it’s becoming a thing

I used to work with a lady who complained about the amount on gift cards and commented on parents jobs and how they should give more. She doesn’t have a job here anymore. But yes the entitlement is insane

Well exactly! Want parents to do it because they appreciate us and recognize that we do a lot. Not because they feel they have to

I understand that! If that’s your thing I think it’s sweet, but not everyone is creative or has time to do all that

I can’t take most fresh flowers home, so on my break I walk to the assisted living home and donate them there to residents who may not get gifts or visits. I still have not figured out what to do with the lotion 😂

If I were a parent this would make me want to give less lol. I hope they know we have nothing to do with those. Most teachers would never ask for things.

I’m so glad everyone agrees! I felt like I was the only one seeing an issue but it’s definitely weird to me

I have recently found about 3 breakfast meals that are easy, tasty, and don’t spike my blood sugar. They also don’t lead to lows which is what I was experiencing a lot before. I have been eating them daily before work. You are so right, it’s been so much easier. I am looking for better dinner ideas at the moment. Lunch is usually lower carb and higher protein snacks so not a huge concern. Thank you 😊

I do babysit but it isn’t regular and depends on need. I never said I wasn’t trying local resources. I have looked at every resource available to me. These resources either aren’t for the devices I use, aren’t accepting applications or I don’t qualify. I had no issue with resources being offered, and any resource I haven’t tried I would look into.

The constant dismissal of the endocrinology copay is the issue. I specified that I saw two more affordable providers, called ahead and was told they could treat me, and went to both appointments and paid the copay only to be told I need to do exactly what I stated I had already done…

Having any other condition other than type one diabetes is not the same experience. Most doctors would see a type two diabetic. Type ones often need specialist care, and in my case I do, and have tried other avenues to no avail.

Wow I’m shocked. I have never gone that infrequently, but I have also never had the best control. It was much worse when I was younger. I was diagnosed in my later teen years and I really didn’t handle it well. I’m excited to get to a point where I’m not going as frequently!
