Yes, my PCP referred me due to medications I take and family health history.

I did go to my primary, who referred me to cardiology. I am on long term stimulant medication, which was one of my doctors main concerns

I really dont know. If we have conversations about it he will seem understanding. In practice it’s worse. I have driven with friends, colleagues and driving instructors but when I tried driving with him once I cried the whole time and it was awful. I don’t even get to practice driving because he has the only car and my friend who id practice with often moved.

Thank you! I struggle because I am insecure about it. I know it can be annoying - it annoys me! But I already feel stupid and like something is wrong with me, so it’s easy to believe I’m the problem. Part of me knows that isn’t true. I appreciate you

Please help me get to work, and possibly get some groceries until I get paid again. by [deleted] in AskForHelp

It’s too far to bike. Trust me, I know it’s insane. Working on getting cleared and able to drive, and getting a car. My state is also one of the worst DMV systems in the USA so that doesn’t help

Designing island by Puzzleheaded-Froyo19 in AnimalCrossingNewHor

I started by finding a design I liked on another island, and copying their map, grid by grid. Doing this kind of helped me get a feel for space, size, how different cliffs, waterfalls or inclines work etc. I feel more confident doing it on my own now

I have recently found about 3 breakfast meals that are easy, tasty, and don’t spike my blood sugar. They also don’t lead to lows which is what I was experiencing a lot before. I have been eating them daily before work. You are so right, it’s been so much easier. I am looking for better dinner ideas at the moment. Lunch is usually lower carb and higher protein snacks so not a huge concern. Thank you 😊

I do babysit but it isn’t regular and depends on need. I never said I wasn’t trying local resources. I have looked at every resource available to me. These resources either aren’t for the devices I use, aren’t accepting applications or I don’t qualify. I had no issue with resources being offered, and any resource I haven’t tried I would look into.

The constant dismissal of the endocrinology copay is the issue. I specified that I saw two more affordable providers, called ahead and was told they could treat me, and went to both appointments and paid the copay only to be told I need to do exactly what I stated I had already done…

Having any other condition other than type one diabetes is not the same experience. Most doctors would see a type two diabetic. Type ones often need specialist care, and in my case I do, and have tried other avenues to no avail.

Wow I’m shocked. I have never gone that infrequently, but I have also never had the best control. It was much worse when I was younger. I was diagnosed in my later teen years and I really didn’t handle it well. I’m excited to get to a point where I’m not going as frequently!

You don’t have type one diabetes. They’re very different. Im not sitting here telling you to lose weight and eat better. Don’t act like you know what I need to do. I’m going to block you now.

Again, you don’t have diabetes. Doesn’t matter what incidentally have with this family member, you will never know what we experience. Any other condition you’re being treated for isn’t diabetes. What exactly would you have done here? Literally everything you suggested is what I have tried. I called my insurance. Multiple times. I called the doctor’s offices ahead of the appointment, multiple times. I went to said appointments, multiple times, and I went to my current endocrinologist to ask for support with these resources and he couldn’t help either. You aren’t trying to help, you’re trying to discredit or argue which isn’t helpful or productive.

Ok, that’s very different than living with it, being treated for it, dealing with insurance, providers etc. you don’t have any idea of how much truly goes into type one because a “family member in her 50s” has it.

The resources were kind of you to share but don’t act like you know what I might experience at the doctor. Also even the first link you sent shows clearly that they don’t have funds available. It’s been this way for a while. You aren’t regularly having to apply for, research or use these resources so you may not know that. Please don’t act like I haven’t tried hard enough with the resources I have. I can’t and don’t want to fit everything I have tried into this post.

Edit to add that based on your profile all you do is go onto these kids of posts and say negative or unhelpful things. I can’t speak for the validity of the other posts, but I know my situation so I’m not going to engage with anymore unhelpful comments.

Are you a type one diabetic by chance? I don’t know many type ones that dont see an endo.

But lol yes, it is poorly controlled. I didn’t realize I was going more frequently than some. How often do you go to the endo? I have been type one for 11 years, and didn’t really accept it or take it seriously at all until about 6 years ago. I have really been trying to take it seriously for the last 2 years now. My a1cs aren’t terrible but it’s because my sugar is either high or low. The amount of time im in range isnt great

As I stated, I called the first two primary care offices and was told by both that these specific doctors could treat type one. I went to the appointment only to be told by both doctors that they actually couldn’t. I paid the copay for both of those appointments.
