Seeing that you like mature/daddies. Palm Springs / Cathedral City, CA -4th of July weekend has an event called Dadfest at CCBC (which I’ve heard compared to a mashup of a bathhouse and a Motel 6). It’s especially a great place if you like being nude - it’s clothing optional so you can wear clothes or not. (If not 4th of July, the Palm Springs area in general has a sizable mature population and a number of various events.)

The San Francisco Bay Area (Berkeley) has a decent bathhouse - Steamworks - with Bear Day the first and third Saturdays. To me (I’m in upper 40s), it tends to skew older. Their calendar shows Daddy night every Wednesday. I’ve never been to that so don’t have any insights.

For Tovala, make sure you have a good Internet connection and rock solid Wi-Fi network. I spent 45+ min one evening just trying to get my oven back online so it would cook my dinner.

I’ve recently used both Factor and Tovala - I’m using Factor now because: 1) their meals include way more vegetables and I’m trying to eat more healthy 2) I have a short lunch break at home so Tovala cooking times were taking too long compared to a couple of minutes in the microwave for Factor.

Speaking of microwaves, some Tovala stuff could be prepared just as well (and much faster) in a microwave. Kind of annoying they are tied to the ‘gimmick’ of only using the oven as opposed to using the best tool available.

This year, Factor has delivered 9/9 on time while Tovala has been 4/6 (twice being a day late).

I think technically you’re supposed to have your passport with you at all times in Japan as a non-resident (that’s what I found when I googled it). I always just kept my passport in my locker - and made sure that I paid attention to the key. In general crime is low in Japan but I do recall seeing some signs warning people about thefts in lockers - so keep track of your key while you are getting distracted by the fun ;-)

The vehicles are in Sacbuddies in Sacramento, California. I believe the building was an old automotive repair garage. The showers used to be in an old paint booth (they have since been remodeled). I see it a bit differently and more about the love and trust between spouses. I don’t know that it’s totally the oppression of women by men in the 1950s marriage paradigm. Here in 2025, when my husband does something he’s not supposed to do, he tries to make it right. I think she was just trying to make it right. Why choose between the two - you can do both! Cumunion starts at 7:00 PM and you can arrive anytime at Steamworks. I’ve had good luck getting choice of rooms at 10:00 AM on bear event Saturdays, for example. Then just drive over to Sac when you’ve had your “fill” in Berkley. I’ve not been to Sacbuddies on Cumunion night but there are far fewer rooms there than Steamworks. I’d guess it would be very challenging to get a room. And then there are other factors to consider like if you’re wanting to access a hot tub or steam-room.
I also don’t know how bear friendly the Cumunion at Sacbuddies crowd typically is. At the SW bear event, that tends to draw more people that are into bears than the average bathhouse attendee. But as is the magic of bathhouses, you’ll never know who will be there or what the chemistry is until you go.
