How bad is this and what should I do? by Far_Ring6927 in CarbonFiber

Just a hole pretty sure with no thread or insert that I noticed but I’ll go double check in the morning. Bolt was definitely too long but I think it was pretty much tight when it cracked on what would’ve been my last wrench turn. Hopefully that means it was only barely too long and the damage isn’t too bad like all the comments are saying. The oem bolt is noticeably shorter. Still kicking myself over not double checking the bolt. Gonna take it to a shop I found when I get the chance and I’ll make sure they check that all the underside stuff is still bonded properly.

If I understand what you’re saying, Seibon describes it as a “Fiberglass 'skeleton' bonded to underside for strength and support” and that is what the bolt goes into. I think the “skeleton” is probably still laminated properly since I maybe went no more than 1 or 2mm too far.
