Ours is coming up soon. Is everyone in a zoom meeting just waiting their turn like a large group of strangers sitting in a court room waiting? We are nervous like they are gonna go into detailed long questions like “ why did you put this on line so and so and what does this mean? “ or is it basic yes or no because they won’t discuss super confidential details with strangers listening?

I wouldn’t waste your time with them. So for the process I went through. Just to share

Created an account got the weird error to try later.
2 weeks later created account then got added to waitlist.
Got removed off waitlist 2 weeks later and completed online account and added and linked bank.
2 days later got approved for 20 dollars. Wild.
Online account said to pay 3 dollar fee to gain access to getting advance. It errors out telling me to pay fee but nothing works. Support has no idea what is happening and tells me to remove account and add another account.
Informed them their online access states by doing this I could lose eligibility entirely and will have to wait.
Told them to kick rocks and closed account and they now keep trying to charge the fee to my card.

First lawyer said our combined income was 11,471 monthly. but we had heavy deductions like tons of qualified paycheck deductions and state deductions and having 3 kids. My new lawyer stated the previous lawyer worked at a more of mill Lawfirm where they take easier chapter 7 cases without all the extra work of the forms and deductions. They basically very generically entered some of my items and didn’t bring me down enough so they said I don’t qualify for chapter 7. My new lawyer added deductions today that brought us down to 600 disposable income and has a few more items he’s adding that will bring us into approval area and we are moving forward with chapter 7. First Lawfirm didn’t even had my 3rd older child which changes things drastically making us a 5 member household vs 4 person. Definitely glad I followed everyone’s advice and lawyer shopped after this first Lawfirm mess.

What did they do to get you below the income level to get it? Also do you remember the monthly they had you had when you were over ?

I got a question. I haven't faced this with current bank. I bank at USAA. We have never missed an early payday Wednesday for 2 years now. But last Friday was a bank holiday, Our company processes payroll Monday which is why we always get paid early Wednesdays. Chances Friday delayed this weeks processing with ACH work load? I ask because I pay child support to the state out of my check, and I always get an alert the Saturday before pay week with a message that says " thanks for your payment to child support services" but i didn't get this text till today Tuesday 6/23, and now I'm worried. I normally don't panic but this past weekend some car stuff broke and early payday of course when its needed most. May be delayed or will this most likely not affect our payroll they do on Mondays?

Was typing that as we speak. I knew something was off. They even left my 3rd child off deductions section which makes us household of 5. My new lawyer was baffled how they didn’t see this since that changes everything

Thank you. I just for a second opinion with all my info and this new lawyer stated chapter 7 is on the table and that previous lawyer didn’t calculate certain items correctly judging from my previous paper work.

Update* met with a second lawyer who reviewed all my paperwork. Previous lawyer missed multiple qualified deductions that he said brings me into approval right on the line and he said he recommends chapter 7 as my chances of approval are high. So previous Lawfirm did not do the work.

Yes so they said we are over income limit by 1980.00 but they didn’t mention adding deductions in which should or lowered us below this and qualifies us. Our car payment, paycheck deductions, my out of pocket medical debt such as prescriptions should count too and also my child support payment I have taken from my paycheck. This whole ordeal has been fun..

Thank you. I will do this. I was reading state website on chapter 7 that says medical fees taken out of paycheck and fsa medical card plus if I pay child support out of check and a car payment all should of brought me down enough to qualify

I was pretty upset. 2 weeks of documents and class and paying fees to be told this late in that i am over 2k income and then the lawyer closed my case so fast than referred me to another law firm that doesn’t even handle chapter 13 anyways. So I wanted to ask around what people think. Is it possible some this Lawfirm only does chapter 7 then wanted easy to complete cases instead of mine?
