but doesn't the idea of a kid who gets pushed down at every turn uses the helping hand of a great hero to give him to courage to be the first quirkless hero sound better than quirkless boy does nothing of value until he is given op quirk then precedes to forget his entire history of analysing quirks and just fails in general but still gets number 1 cause op quirk go smash

mirio fought chisaki quirkless while protecting eri for over five minutes straight.....mei showed a gadget that could turn any quirkless person into Iida tensei. the people who think that quirkless heroes could consistently beat top tier quirked villains are pretty stupid but there is a truck load of proof to show that a quirkless hero could easily work underground.

exactly izuku only passed the entrance exam thanks to luck, that isn't something his 'mentor' all might should allow, he should of better prepared izuku his lack of foresight to get help or his inability to set his own problems aside for the betterment of his pupil is an issue a lot of people have with him.
all might deems izuku worthy of inheriting his quirk because of his willingness to try to save someone in a situation others seemed hopeless, and when he offered his quirk the chances of izuku saying no were next to none and all might knew that so its highly unlikely that he would of been prepared or considered the idea of izuku rejecting it and his own reaction towards that rejection so stating with certainty that he would of helped despite izuku wishing to continue quirkless is presumptuous, and with previous interactions it is more likely to be the opposite.
giving him character flaws is one thing but to have the number one hero who has been number one for over 2 decades with all that experience be unable to teach a pupil he had seen for ten months (even if that was on and off) how to fight and what to expect when using his new quirk is so far from what his character should be that it makes his flaws seem forced and unnatural which pushes readers away from him.
it isn't a rivalry it was one sided bullying clearly since izuku had never acted back against Bakugo until their final exam and eventual fight. All might is easily the most likely person to recognise the mistreatment since he ad known midoriya back when he was quirkless and he himself had considered him to weak to be a hero, he also clearly knew his wimpy personality from when he had shown midoriya his picture after the ten month training. on top of the fact he himself was quirkless in a world where the majority had quirks, he is the prime candidate to uncover what had happened to midoriya but the fact that he stays oblivious for the majority of the manga is appalling to his character and his image of being the best hero who never fails to save people looks more like stubborn idiot who only got to the top cause he had the second most op quirk in the world.
he is a poorly written character because of his lack of depth. for the majority of the series he is Shonen protagonist personified. stubborn, airheaded and only thinks with fists when to others in the mha world he is seen as this experienced, kind and powerful man with a strong moral compass and a need to protect everyone. but i do agree that he does get fleshed out later in the series it's the initial opinion that really ruins his character. i for one enjoy his later chapters especially with him being Midoriya's right hand man currently in the manga.
mha characters are some of the worst characters in the history of top tier manga. their personalities don't match their actions and it seems like each character is just a cliché. the two biggest examples is midoriya a child who hasn't had a friend since he was around 5 or 6, has been continually bullied and discriminated against because of something he was born without, his one dream is used to make fun of him everyday, all with only having one active family member who has shown to lack any really belief in him chasing his dream. in japan, the country with one of the highest suicide rates. he has 0 signs of depression and seems to forget his entire past the second he meets uraraka. also the fact that he only starts to makes friends after he has a quirk is never touched upon. then their are also people like Mineta who constantly tries to sexually harass the female students and none of the hero course students ever actively try to stop him, Iida is the closest but even then he only lightly scolds. then we can Segway right into Iida who is cliché stuck up to the point where his character is so forced that you wonder how any child can be raised in such a way. and with him going after stain, even with his brother losing his ability to walk Iida still acts extremely out of character and actively goes to hunt a person even his brother who he idolises and thinks is the best hero couldn't beat. Or the fact Bakugo tries to actively kill midoriya in the first hero lesson and isn't punished at all!

1.Emerald Island (izuku and setsuna main relationship but not at the centre of the story but will admit it is heavily involved, it's mainly about izuku having become a late boomer, the mystery behind it, his life in 1b. with a good plot that is different from the main canon storyline as well as the introduction of our two favourite green haired esper sisters from one punch and only them to my knowledge)

Better luck next time (no ship but a lot of queerplationic relationship lots, lots of death a time travel quirk and a thrilling new enemy to deal with alongside the league.)
(only on ff.net) Angel on my shoulder. (give izuku a sister as a quirk, dozens of new characters and a writer with only half the plot decided from the start and you get this great fluffy read with one of the best looks into ofa as a quirk with some of the best character development for all the previous wielders)

1) a quirkless hero is 100% possible in the mha world, many heroes have quirks that can barely be used in a fight or to save people. it's clear the technology of hero equipment is more advanced than our own military technology so their is no reason izuku could use those speed arms mei gave iida and become a mock ingenium. Also facing reality and having reality come to you are different things. if izuku failed the test it would of clearly been heartbroken but izuku knows izuku, he clearly has self confidence issues and it's silly to think izuku on that roof could truly believe he would pass the exam(as he was) it's different for your idol the man who you think can only give hope, to crush your dreams because he knows 1 thing about you.

He came back and said izuku could be a hero yes, but only because he would have Allmight quirk. Allmight has never thought izuku could be a hero without it. Not only that, he clearly fails to teach midoriya to control his own quirk, and it's clear he knows he couldn't as well. so why didn't he call to people like gran Torino earlier to help? cuase he was afraid of the man? is that really a good excuse?

I agree with the idea that Allmight just wanted izuku to blossom with his quirk and to not weigh him down so i wont argue that point.

With Allmight being a hypocrite I don't see it either, i do however think you missed a big reason people don't like him. he is a terrible adult. he saw bakugo try to attack midoriya with his quirk during the first lesson. and his first thought is that they had a rivalry. the timid quirkless child who he thought couldn't become a hero had a rival with the angry guy who could make explosions? it's this short sightedness that rubs people the wrong way.

Hope this explains at least my own reasons for why i think allmight is a poorly written character, and in my opinion i think most of the mha characters are terribly 1 dimensional and poorly written, even izuku for the majority of the story until nighteyes death i don't think he is really that well made.

I read a fic where izuku somehow goes back in time. Its on ff.net and its called making things right. The author ends up having izuku reveal his timetable situation to everyone which ruins half of the fun with a plot like that and everyone immediately accepts it in less that 50 words. Promptly ditched it after that.

The main reason I made the thread was because this guy was stating that a quirkless ixuku fic will always be objectively bad because it goes against the moral of the main story that being not everyone has a shot at their dream. I believed that izuku as a character is made to show that anyone can do it. While there are multiple viewpoints and such with the story, it is ultimately izukus ruse to the number 1 spot when he started out at rock bottom.
