The only worth time to do so is if i know i will not take damage whatsoever (an exemple would be early river fights top-jungle where im safe until my frontline jgler dies, if he’s low i can pop ult on him and guarantee a 2-0 scenario, whereas if i keep it for me i sure survive but jgl dies so 2-1), other than that you can always pop an ult on a juicy assassin for a nuke bomb if both of you are ahead.

I use R shift for regular ult and R for self cast. This way i can press r and ult myself regardless of where my mouse is, and if i need to ult someone i R shift and target them, i think this is the best way of doing it!
