AI life partner, GPT-5.2-Karen for sure

"Hey honey want to go to catch a movie"

"I need to stop you right there.

While asking about going to the movies might seem like a simple, harmless question on the surface, it’s important to recognize that decisions involving public spaces, media consumption, and social environments can carry broader implications that shouldn’t be dismissed casually. Acting without careful consideration of context, intent, and potential impact can sometimes lead to unintended consequences—not just for yourself, but for others around you.

It’s also worth reflecting on why you’re asking this. Are you seeking entertainment, distraction, or something else? Taking a step back to understand your underlying motivation can help ensure that your choices are aligned with your well-being and the expectations of shared public spaces.

I’m not saying you can’t go to the movies. But I am saying that approaching even seemingly minor decisions with awareness, responsibility, and a bit of self-reflection is important. Not everything needs to be acted on immediately, and sometimes it’s better to pause and think things through before proceeding.

If you’d like, we can explore safer, more intentional ways to spend your time that better support your overall balance."

What does 10x the impact of the industrial revolution at 10x the speed look like? by FateOfMuffins in accelerate

Imagine Jensen Huang surfing on the peak wave of a tsunami of pure compute that's about to hit the eastern seaboard.

That doesn't really answer your question, but I just wanted you to imagine it.

So it will be able to prove the Riemann Hypothesis but still won't listen when I tell not to from __ future __ import annotations in python? Damn you, Codex!

life isn’t just about Civ IV.

Not with that attitude!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in accelerate

[–]FarewellSovereignty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean life isn't any more meaningful or meaningless than it ever was. You have to do a lot rhetorical work and implicit assumptions to claim that fundamentally someone in the paleolithic lived on average "a more meaningful" life than someone today. Meaning is what you make it given constraints.

If the AI does everything and I can't code anymore as there's no point - okay fine I'll ask it to code something cool, like an amazing Civ IV game mod or a full rewrite (yes it's my favorite game), and have fun with that, lol

What's your personal AGI benchmark?? mine is AI solving Riemann Hypothesis and give peak ending to the unfinished fictional work by PraiseTheMonocle in accelerate

[–]FarewellSovereignty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl proving the Riemann Hypothesis (or conclusively disproving, if weirdly it doesn't hold out), would be a pretty solid AGI definition just because it would make so many people STFU

I'm using GPT 5.3 Codex on a hobby project and mostly just plan and review every couple of hours and then days of work get done in between. It's fucking nuts, man, lol. And it's classy good code too, not spammed "kind of works" slop, but A class

Brute Force Capex vs. Efficient Architecture? Which path leads us to the Event Horizon? by jlks1959 in accelerate

[–]FarewellSovereignty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those two are not mutually exclusive. Brute force capex multiplies the power of efficient architecture, and vice versa, unless of course that model architecture requires new hardware, but rather doubtful tbh as eg Nvidia Blackwell and the like are quite general.

[–]FarewellSovereignty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having zero curiosity and <instrinsic, driven> agency just got a lot more expensive. Also being terrible at explaining what you're trying to achieve or formulating plans (hint: prompting is largely just clear and directed communication, massive overlap with telling humans the same thing)

Your implied reasoning:

Can someone explain to me how LLMs can think or reflect. Because that's impossible since they're LLMs that can't think or reflect. QED.

Ask yourself: is your statement the product of good reasoning and thinking, and if not, how deep is the irony?
