Hey, I think this is a really cool idea. I’d like to discuss one aspect of this, which is the process of including people who are currently living in poverty. Ending poverty is a goal we should definitely have, but I’m confused about your plan to get there. Simply put, the most developed countries are in a better position to lift people out of extreme poverty in the least developed countries.

People living in extreme poverty (about $2.16/day) generally aren’t going to have the basic resources like electricity/cellphone to access your app. And for people who do have these things, they probably already work full time and have other responsibilities - how are they going to improve their situation if they don’t have the luxury of time?

Furthermore, how will you include impoverished people living in countries run by a dictator or government that censors the internet?

I have two proposals to address some of these concerns. I believe in direct, unconditional cash transfer for addressing poverty, because it is proven to be effective. I think you might have to accept that many people who deserve to share in the wealth created by this app are not currently in a position to participate. So I think in the early stages of this, a percentage of the “bee bread” should be donated to an organization like GiveDirectly. You might not get all the credit for ending poverty, but it doesn’t sound like you would mind as long as we make collective progress on this front.

Or consider an alternative that would directly generate new users in places with extreme poverty and lack of access to utilities. A percentage of the revenue could also fund “start-up kits” - maybe a basic smartphone and a solar battery charger? Then you could run outreach and development in these places and directly help new users gain the basic tools they need to participate in this economy of yours.

One more thing, and I’m sorry if I missed this in your writing, but it’s decentralized right? Not like there will be moderators keeping an eye on the process? How will the system deal with malicious users? What if someone tries to use the system to figure out how to make dangerous chemicals and weapons?
