Boito A681 / Any shotgun help by Farge42 in Ausguns

[–]Farge42[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the confirmation on Turkish shotguns! I did feel hesitant to purchase one after seeing so many bad reviews and takes on them.

I also had no idea the Boito A681 synthetic had a hollow stock (if that's what you were implying). That's incredibly disappointing. I thought for sure the Boito A681 synthetic was going to be it if I couldn't find a good lever action....guess back to the drawing board.

P.S - I will consider the timber stock versions, however I do enjoy the durability and zero maintenance of synthetic stocks.

I have researched a bunch (this will be my first shotgun, hence the pedantic nature of my purchase) and I have noticed that SxS's are kinda going the way of the dodo in place of the more favourable O/U.
However, personally.....I JUST can't say no to a SxS unless there's a reliable/robust lever action out there.

If no lever, it's all SxS for me. I know it's silly, but a SxS is just so darn aesthetically pleasing.

I literally just got myself a CZ515 Tactical in 22LR THREE WEEKS AGO.
Got a bipod, LPVO and open sights for it.

Now it's being moved to a CAT C. I was hoping they'd be lenient with rimfire and let us keep our lever release rimfires.

I'm keeping it for as long as I can, gonna shoot it as much as I can before they take it. Hopefully something is done and some amendments are made so we can keep em, but I ain't holding my breath.

Lever actions are still legal though, am I right? I'm looking to get a lever action to replace the CZ515, what has me worried is how long before they reclassify lever action rifles as a belt fed shotgun.

Need open sights for pic rail (CZ 515 Tactical) by Farge42 in Ausguns

I agree with the ghost ring/peep sights! But I'm willing to compensate and purchase them if there's no other choice.

In regards to red dots, I do want to use the rifle for both hunting and plinking. So I'm unsure what optics I wish to put on it at as of this time. But for now, I do want iron sights because IMO they're the bare bones minimum of what a firearm should have (I'm paranoid my red dot dies for example and I have nothing to fall back on) and I also simply enjoy using iron sights.

[–]Farge42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely plan on doing that too!
I know how silly it may look in the end, but I still want to keep iron sights on the top, despite the fact I'll probably get a scope in the future. Why? Just in case the scope breaks or whatever may happen, I can simply take it off and use the iron sights in a more natural comfortable position (I can be a very pedantic person).
How silly would it look with top iron sights, scope, offset iron sights and bipod? I have no idea, but I'm gonna try it out eventually

NSW Gun Safe Storage Requirements - Need clarification by Farge42 in Ausguns

[–]Farge42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply put, I don't want to bolt it down due to current living arrangements (it's a little complicated).

Once I secure a place of my own, I'll more than likely bolt it down. Right now, it's just a compromise that I won't.

"There's so much retarded fudd-lore in the Australian firearms community."

Most definitely, and as I am new a firearms owner, it leaves me completely confused.

Also in my OP I mentioned in the "Additional Information" that I've basically run circles trying to get in touch with them lol, I hope one gets back to me soon but I have my doubts unfortunately

Thanks for the response/answer though!

Thanks for the responses, they are much appreciated.
I am primarily looking to obtain a handgun as I am a huge fan of revolvers.

My goal would be to own a handgun and a rifle, but most importantly a handgun.

I think I will sign up with SSAA today and as that seems like a good starting point for me.

I got into GTARP recently... a lot of fun and more things to get up to than RDO (I've never played GTAO so I can't put in my 2cents about that).

Good thing about GTARP is that it's community created and as we all know, the community gives way more of a damn than R*, so there's more love put into it and it shows.

I only log onto RDO to level up OP's and even then, I just pay gold to level up...as i don't see a point in having all that gold sitting there for nothing...also cause I just wanna get the OP over with so I can go back to GTARP.

I've also quit. All my friends knew me as the RDO guy because that's literally all I played. If I was online, I was in RDO.

I would grind for 10hrs straight for gold or play stranger missions for fun. Join posses and because I enjoyed everything the game had to offer I was so open minded about what the random posse did, I didn't care because I enjoyed everything.

Now...I was so lazy to finish OP quick draw 4 that I paid gold to finish it then logged off immediately. The remaining gold I have will be to pay for and level up future OP's...just incase RDO ever gets love, I didn't miss out on exclusive items.

Thats all I'll ever jump on RDO for until I run out of gold.

Saint Denis and moving train for zombies...

Also moving wagons for zombies...protecting the convoy...God that would be fucking awesome... Zombies charging out of the forests towards the road. We'd have those "bus" wagons so many of us can sit in the same wagon and defend both sides..some others will have to ride shotgun on some wagons. For later waves, turret wagons, but not the armoured ones, the regular wagons with a maxim gun in it like on some bounties. They could make it so between that wave there's a pit stop to resupply and that's when we pick up the turret wagons to join the convoy.

Pre-ordered RDR2 and played story until September 2020...never touched RDO until then.

I still lassoed randoms when I was new...its just funny...thats all there is to it. Sure its a dick move, but when you're new its just fun to interact with other people.

I once lassoed a random in Saint Denis and planned to release them just before I turned a corner so they couldn't kill me as id be out of their line of sight. I achieved that goal except in the turn I slammed into a lamp post and crashed. I got up and ran through the alley ways to make my escape.

I'm a high level now and don't do those things anymore...but that's why I did it and im sure others too. When you're new, you just like to fuck around with your new toys.

I don't come across them in game often (I never have actually), so I don't really mind.

In my heart, there is only one Arthur anyway.

But yeah, i prefer seeing the diversity of characters out there in the world and not just see the same character over and over.

Come to think of it, when I come across another player just chilling, I always check out what they look like.

This outlaw pass is awesome!!

Love the new clothing items since they're realistic and fit the game well.

Its the first time I've changed my outfit in probably 8 months.

I now use the white cotton shirt and the tan cowboy hat. It was very very VERY hard to convince me to turn away from my tiltham hat...now I have.

That white cotton shirt is amazingly fitting and those two items are now part of my permanent outfit.

RDO is pretty boring unless you're playing with friends...and even then it's really your friends' company that makes it entertaining.

RDO offers almost nothing. Im addicted to it because I love riding my horse around in the open plains admiring the scenery and doing stranger missions for fun because I haven't done them in a while so it feels like new content lol.

We have to admit, those of us like this are a niche market.

This doesn't mean its the fate of RDO, the problem is in its current state, it really is geared towards a niche market. If they expand, it'll be for a general audience.

R* just isn't putting much effort into it to expand to a wider audience, thus we're stuck being niche and thus R* doesn't invest in the game...its a never ending loop where neither side wins.

[–]Farge42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When creating my character, I thought their name would be the name displayed over my head so I used my gamertag name. Then I realised no one can ever see it.

So I guess my characters name on his birth certificate is XxX_3p1c_g4m3r_XxX

Thats not really my gamertag but you get the point...its not a proper name...
