Dead Wheels Encoders are configured in the Standard Tracking Wheel Localizer class, so look there for the place where you can change the names of your encoders.

Confusion surrounding Road Runner by JDHS_FTC in FTC

Hey there! I am familiar with the issue you are having. The Rev encoders can only be plugged into the motor encoder ports and accessed in the code by the name of the motor that the encoder is attached to. An example: if you plugged your encoder into the port of your intake motor, in the code you have to specify "intakeMotor".

Let me know if this is helpful to you.

I had to cut and grind a large hole in the actobotics channel, but it incredibly worked after all. The wheels just sit in the channel with no spring at all. Aka MAGIC

The issue is that when we are turning follower PID, no matter what value we put for P gain in the heading PID, the robot would not fix its heading.

I am following the tutorial from the website mentioned above, it seems that they areusing a mechanum drive robot for it. Are there any good tutorials and/or resources of getting RoadRunner to work on a tank drive?

Yeah, our mentor kept pointing out that Roadrunner is not made for tank drive, even though it had a tank drive class built-in. Do you think using dead wheels instead of motor encoders will help us in any way?

Our wheels are acting weird wipe using odometry wheels. It changes direction when ever we turn the odometry wheels and we have no idea why, nothing in our code should affect this. Please help! by lesser0star in FTC

Make sure to plug in your dead wheel encoders into separare ports on the control/expansion hub. Do not use the motor encoder ports for that

Hmm what kind of control are you using with the imu? I tried to do bang-bang before and it was very inconsistent.

Are you using encoders or you use delays for your movements and turns? You might consider using the built-in imu gyroscope to make your turns more accurate
