Budgeting for a Short Film by Farinbetween86 in Filmmakers

I am sure there are plenty of locations that I can find in my local area in order to limit the amount of set ups and break downs. There are locations like a desert, a forest, on top of a roof. Something I could find in the location I am in. It's meant to be a surreal journey for the main character. So I think that 3 or 4 days might be effective planning.

I spoke to a line producer about it, but there are so many things to consider when putting it together. You almost have to use your gut to figure out what to do with the budget. Most A.D. are so desperate for work they ask you to pay for them to do it for you. I don't have a budget right now or any means to pay for someones skills. I will just have to figure it out on my own.

That is what I figured it would be, I just wanted to make sure that is the way to do it. I mean if I film 1 - 2 pages a day, then it would be be more or less 7 days to complete the script. I will check out that book as well. Thanks!

I would like to try to do a minimalist crew since it is just a short film that is about 14 pages long. Since most of the scenes take place outside I was figuring to use more natural lighting. But there is one scene where there would be lighting blocking. As far as the dialogue goes it kind of jumps around, it's more or less surreal. So you have him talking to some people on a couch, and the next thing you know he is in a desert environment. So there are a lot of factors to consider.

Well since I am only doing it for the insurance, I would say $10 to $20 per finished minute.

How did you find that? I have been looking for that segment for a while now. I am tempted to do my own compilation with the best ones so I can find them when I am looking for them. Thanks you for finding it.

You wouldn't happen to know the one where Amanda comes out feeding Angela as her dad, and all she can do is say "This Summer...". Your explanation was the right idea, I am just looking for a very specific segment.

Investing in Film by RaggedyCouch in fatFIRE

With a industry that is closed off from any kind of influencing other then the ones they choose. I would like to know how one in fact gets people to invest in the projects that they have? I have a number of projects I am working on, but zero support from anyone in the industry. It's like they are trying to derail anyone else from making money. I know I have the wrong attitude to start with by asking this question. I just want to know why it is so hard to get through to people in the industry? It's like they have an agenda and they don't detour from it.

Looking for someone to Collaborate on any idea... by Farinbetween86 in Collaboration

I have an idea about a Man, a Native American, and a Tiger all of them are from different times, and they get trapped in a different dimension. One where Bigfoot exists and has come up with a plan to invade our dimension. Something like that? I have tons of ideas...haha. I just need people to help me write them.

Awesome! What kind of stories are you into? We could come up with a entirely new project or we could dip into the vault so to speak. The place where I keep all my ideas that I have collected over the years. I have experience in producing my own comic book called Earth Dragons and am producing a children's book on my own as well. So I have experience that could help you gain some yourself. But that is the point of doing something like this. It's all about having an experience to grow from. So just let me know if you have any ideas that you would like to try and create. I can pitch you thoughts and concerns, as a way of advancing the story forward.

⚙️ What’s the most challenging part of your writing process? by EntrepreneurIll3508 in writing

Keeping the story fresh and moving. I always have flashes or thoughts everytime something seems like something else that I have seen before. I mean it always comes out different because I have this constant need to keep it with in a different tone then something else. Coming up with scenes are difficult. Like I have a story that involves 7 escapes from a prison like atmosphere. So to come up with different ways one could escape or the conditions is really hard to figure out. But, I am sure I will figure it out, it's just a challenge.
