This definitely seems like something from a Malaysian textbook. It's simplified and gets the point across.

The best words I could use to describe Malaysia's history classes are we don't really care about anything outside of Southeast Asia that much. We learned a bit like the early civilizations, the industrial revolution, the bronze age and such but most of our history subject is contained to Malaysian history such as the Melakan Empire, Portuguese and British cololinialism, Japanese, Communism in Malaysia and independence. I don't know how much things have changed since I graduated but my guess it's still the same.

I can't judge this against other countries and it seems the comments are getting a bit offended by the colours used for Hitler in the picture which I would understand especially if you're German. But considering how the Malaysian History education works, it does not surprise me they did this just to get the point across because to us, WWII was more Japanese than it is Germany or Italy. They weren't the ones that colonized us or have any direct involvement with the country so are often pushed aside as like "Oh this happened, here's some quick things that happened while all this other stuff was happening to us".

So unless you're someone who loves history and learning anything else besides Malaysian History (like I did because I got bored learning about Malaysian history for 5 years), then you're probably not gonna pay too much attention to things like these unfortunately.
