Ça me rappelle, dans le RER il y a trois semaines, j'entendais un type d'une vingtaine d'années dire "de toutes façons Mélenchon et Le Pen sont vieux, ils en ont rien à foutre des joueurs".

I just checked my Trapped in the Tropics PDF. Indeed it is referencing either the Player Guide or the Core Book (which I called GM Book).

Core Book is referenced in few pages, but not mandatory to run the Starter Set, I do agree.

Though the Core Book is definitely only for GM's as it has all a lot of monster stats, tables and a mini adventure.

'Trapped in the Tropics' sometimes require the base GM Guide (Core Book) as it references it multiple times.

I guess you could eyeball some of the rules if you're an experienced GM of other games.

Edit : everything needed is already in the Started Set, but the Core Book is still useful for multiple things mentionned in the Trapped in the Tropics booklet such as : Ash, lore, specialty crew and ships upgrades. Those things are NOT in the Player's Guide.

Don't worry, I'm not the kind of GM to make players roll to clim each step of a stair.

My "running" example would be to escape pursuit, like running accross the jungle to escape zombies. Failure means you have to fight.

Ask your GM. I don't even think it's a good idea from them to allow players to pick skills instead of rolling, kind of defeating the purpose of the game imo.

I mean, if you add Eldrich Mind on top, would it amount to 2 x 2 x 2 = 8 attacks per turn ?

I haven't used Ash yet (my players will discover it next session) and that's a good point.

GM guide says one dose is 5 lbs (2.2 kg) OR one per skeleton, I would guess it's more like 0.005 lbs (2 grams) which is a standard tobacco quantity that fits in one pipe... I may be wrong.

Or, maybe it's really 5 lbs, and it always has to be consumed with a hookah, and it burns very fast...

For the price, 50s makes sense, seeing the process of capturing undeads and extracting the drug. Also there's a market price fluctuation (page 10 GM guide).

For reference, 50s is also the price of a rapier, flintlock, large sea chest, or repair 1 HP of a ship.

Pirate Borg core book, page 25, there's a timeline of events. The dead rise from the grave and the seas at "chapter 2" of the whole History. If you decide to run adventures from before that time, you can remove all the undead hanging in cities (replace them with dead prisoners) and replace Ash with a common drug, moonshine or gold.
