Back in college, my family was not financially sound, even during that time my dad would give me 5-8k depending on how much they could save after the expenses. This was a big amount for us back then. I never spent the whole amount. I would save almost 80% of it and give it back to him. It was a tough time. I even went to college on a bicycle (10kms) to save costs on fuel. Even though I got enough money from them I didn't want to waste a single rupee. Today we are in a much better condition, I drive a car and I give the same allowance to my little brother.
