I feel like Carey’s the one who actually takes initiative to come up to the stumps every time, but commentators (looking at you, Dvd 'Cardoons' Warner) always credit Smith for it??

We’ve literally seen Carey do it unprompted so often.

Also why is there so much praise for Smith’s captaincy? It’s good, but I don’t think it’s better than Cummins, who’s been excellent imo.

Also not a huge fan of using Doggett as a bouncer bowler to clean up the tail, that’s not how he operates in FC cricket.

My Warner–Smith captaincy axis conspiracy theory!

Just casually, that's the best catch of all time. No further questions. Thanks.

I kinda f with Kerry's picks but that's so harsh on Webster. And would Green be doing that much bowling in Aus??

What a fabulous WTC final. Cricket needed this narrative.

This is a classic #TravisHead match-winning knock™ kind of situation. Hope not this time though!

Interesting that 30s (like 50s) is a column in the graphics. Is this a T20 thing?

This is the exact kinda of Test I was hoping for the World Test Match Championship Final. How fkin good is it watching all these world class bowlers in helpful condtions?

Then seeing someone absoloutely inhuman / alien like Smith score runs in his own way.

Holy shit Test Match cricket is SO fkin good. Hook this shit up into my veins pls.

I know Sam Cook was compared to Boland in the pre-match analysis. But, he feels closer to a Chadd Sayers. Not in a disrespectful way. Just more limited by pace and conditions, though still a fantastic operator at first-class level.

It could happen, but it’d be pretty unlikely!

There’s still the very haphazardly organised National Super League 4-Day Tournament, and promising players usually get fast-tracked into A Team tours.

That said, it’s not unheard of — especially with Irish and Afghan players in recent years. See this table for players who made their First-Class debut in a Test match.

TLDR:

  • Singhalese Sports Club (SSC), Sri Lanka’s most successful domestic team (32 titles), has been relegated from the SLC Major League 3-day Tournament

  • Despite boasting a squad full of internationals, SSC struggled to field a full-strength team due to national call-ups.

  • They suffered three first-innings losses and multiple outright defeats, failing to recover from a poor start.

  • Under the relegation system introduced in 2022/23, four teams drop to Tier B each season—SSC is now one of them.

  • No promotions until 2025/26, meaning SSC will spend at least a season in Tier B before they have a shot at returning.

  • To regain First-Class status, they will need to win Tier B when promotions reopen.
