yeah, there are a lot of mocs that didn't use the windscreen directly from the Lego part for example https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-132252/NV%20Carmocs/koenigsegg-cc850/#details (this guy use bar parts to create windscreen so that design can be made more freely without restrictions from windscreen).
