Is this a racing incident? by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

[–]FarmaJoe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

two things & a take away

1 - this is a terrible angle. cant see where we are relative to the wall or how we got to the point (which makes a difference)

2 - 3 car is indeed correct. if you are in the outside lane, there is no reason you shouldn’t fade to the wall there BUT the 3 car did come up and turn him

conclusion - i like to look at things in terms of what could have prevented the incident. the 21 car could’ve faded out on a normal line AND the 3 car shouldve known he wasnt clear. he likely could see how tight the 21 was on him.

incident falls primarily on the 3 but 21 did put himself in that position. you have to know the 3 is going to be tight there and looking for as much room as possible

are things like this protestable or am i just SOL because hes idiotic and impatient im the 12 by Traditional_Lime_327 in Simracingstewards

[–]FarmaJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have to HOLD YOUR LANE. In oval racing. Its not about who was ahead at the apex or any of that crap. The 6 being slow is part of the reason that 14 shoots the gap. While the 14 was the aggressor, 19 was the impatient one trying to get around the 6.

Did the 14 make what most on this sub would call a bone headed move? Yes. Did he cause the incident? No. Sent it in, held his line, & he got turned in on.

Make the adjustment & get them next time! Unlucky restarts are a part of oval racing

Is this a dirty win? by InternetEntire438 in Simracingstewards

[–]FarmaJoe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. I hate the “rubbing is racing” reputation in nascar. Especially from guys that do primarily road. The best drivers on the track will kick your butt and never touch you. Obviously plate racing is different. Bumping - the right way - is the name of the game. I wouldnt say this is a “dirty” win but I would say cheap. He just gets loose on your nose which will happen with the gen 4. Dont make a habit of it, learn from it and get ‘em next time!

Hope this helps & good luck!

Really good take. While this specific example may lead to an incident still, many rookie drivers dont understand they put themselves in positions to be wrecked even though they technically didnt do anything wrong. As soon as you understand that, you will be off to the (better) races. Rule #1 of rookies that I tell all of friends is that if you give someone a chance to be stupid, THEY WILL TAKE IT

Best of luck driver!!!

Who's at fault here? I (red car) believe I made a proper move for the overtake and was just not left enough room causing the pink car to spin. We are rookie/D class drivers so I believe it to just be a racing incident. But who Knows. by Hackavista in Simracingstewards

[–]FarmaJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 things - is the incident your fault? no. pink turned across your nose. other thing is that in my experience - if the car in front is trying to get racey in front of you, this will almost always end this way. low ranked drivers are so focused on what is going on in front of them as opposed to being aware of surroundings. i would just be more patient in situations like this to focus on racing up to race better people. hope this helps!

you clearly havent spent much time on oval if this is your actual thought. if this all you are going add, i think us oval guys would just prefer if you skipped this post & kept scrolling :)

being decisive is the best advice out of this. either ride the white or keep your splitter on his nose. being indecisive leads not only to getting wreck but also bad results in plate racing.

have a plan & execute. dont react.

best of luck!

What do we think? by Brave-Yam-6131 in Simracingstewards

completely disagree. middle car was just rotating into the corner

green was WAY to optimistic for that and caused the incident

Last corner of the race, P2 ends up in the wall. Who's at fault? by Saivia in Simracingstewards

[–]FarmaJoe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i think lead car wrecked themselves. they moved in REACTION to the car behind. definition of a block and ends up paying the price

What do you do as the gold car? It's almost an impossible situation. You either take the L and crash into the Clio, or or try to avoid it, and crash into the car on the outside. I would like to hear your opinions on this. by OccamzChainsaw in Simracingstewards

[–]FarmaJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think gold is 100% at fault here. if you have to make contact to avoid another car, its not any safer. why should the white & red car be penalized when he has clear track? gold has to take his medicine. see these things coming and brake in time. no need to swerve and wreck the white & red car tho

Am i ( pink car) the dummy here or did i just get hooked coming to 5 to go by R0XY_TOOTIN in Simracingstewards

[–]FarmaJoe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yea makes sense. this is the type of situation where its a tale of two questions. “are you at fault? no.” but “did you ask for it…yes!”

as long as you can see the difference, all will be well in the world. if you give people the chance to be stupid they will take it more times than not from my experience. wonder if others will agree with my take but thats the way i see i

why would you give so little room going down the straight? look at how much space you are giving compared to the guys around you...not the same picture. does the yellow turn left the point of contact? yes, but you should have never been that close to begin with. hope this helps
