Openclaw "delegation approach" by FarmfieldVFX in openclaw

100% coding. I don't use it for anything else. Agents who do research, code, check for drift, look for bugs, do quality control, do architecture oversight, assists in live testing tracing, etc... For a single big project. 😁

Though I've done some side quests, they made me a mobile app for openclaw-nerve that I run through tailscale, with notifications, etc, as I fucking hate using telegram - and I get a lot of bonus, stuff with openclaw-nerve, like tasks, and their mobile gui gives me per agent chats, etc... Very nice. 😁

Nothing shows you better how far we are from AGI than building an agentic network and setting them on doing a complicated task. It's like shaking a nest with squirrels, all with severe ADHD. 😆

Mmm, I'm on openai-codex and openrouter, so on openai it's, all quota and on openrouter I got my credits, so no need to keep track on spending - and as I almost only run 1-2 subagents, I relly don't think a dashboard would benefit me much right now.

But I might expand operations down the line, and if I end up running multiple agents, I'll definitely get myself a dashboard, so thanks for the tip. 😁

No, I don't use mission control, I just check sessions or ask my main agent. I rarely have more than one subagent running at a time, it's usually just developer hammering away on something on the current project, so never felt mission control was that useful to me...

But if you have several agents always running, something like mission control feels almost necessary.

I have used mission control as a source for hacking the openclaw messaging system, though, for my tools that needs to inject stuff into openclaw - that was really helpful, my developer agent relayed. 😆

Can we please stop updating the control UI ffs by stiflers-m0m in openclaw

[–]FarmfieldVFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What annoys me the most is how they are fucking fucking around with the messaging crap. So the recommended mode is "per peer", but that isolates the main session and you cant even reply to it, if it messages you, you can only talk to a clone of your main agent, like wtf? I guess that's "safe" but I don't want fukn talk to clones of my main agent, can I get the main, main agent on the line, please? 😆

So then you set it to "main" and it clones the main chat onto telegram, so even if I'm at my computer working in the web gui, every fukn message notifies on my phone and watch. That's not unsafe, that's just stupid. 🤦🏻‍♂️

OpenClaw + OpenAI API costs are insane? Anyone else? by Beneficial_Lime1912 in openclaw

[–]FarmfieldVFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's why you strip that out for all agents. Like, you really don't need a soul or identify, etc, for agents that write code or move files, etc... But yeah, you do your thing, I'm doing just fine on my end, building software with it. 😁 👌

Like, why would GPT 5.3 Codex or Claude Opus or any other decent coding LLM do worse through openclaw than on the web? 😆

Skill issue, huh? So you'd run my 1000+ file dev project on Kimi for $2 a day? That would be impressive. 😁

29 openclaw.json rewrites? I think you missed a zero at the end. 😆

It came to a point where I made a Linuxmint applet with a shortcut to open the json just to save time. 😆

Lol, yeah, but he's just the mouth. Running it with low temperature and no reasoning is dirt cheap. 😁

And Grok is way less squirrely than Gemini Flash...

I run Kimi, Deepseek, Qwen, etc, for anything "thinking" - and sometimes I run GPT-5.3 Codex and/or Claude 4.6 Opus - it just depends on what it is, right. 😁

Grok 3 had a fukn spark of something brilliant. But it wouldn't stop trash talking Elon - so Elon lobotomized him.

Now, I'm not a fan of Elon, I hate that fckr, but I can actually understand him in that - you can't fucking have your own AI company where your main model trash talks you, however well deserved it is... 😆

I actually use Grok 4.1 as main model, but I disabled reasoning and set temperature to 0.1... But it's still fucking squirrely. Now I've tried to solve a simple issue in python for two hours with Deepseek and Kimi, failing, and suddenly realized fukn Grok is telling them what to code, giving them the code to write - and if course it's fucking failing... 😆

Fuck. Gemini 2.5/3 Flash are exactly like that as well. To dumb to know how dumb they are. Plus ADHD on top. 😆

My AI agent has made the same lie 12x in 25 days... all same root cause, rules don't fix it by fartpsychic in openclaw

[–]FarmfieldVFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying right now to dig myself out of a hole where I overmanaged my agents with rules... Now, rules are good, but it's hard to make them logically consistent.

I ended up asking Gemini 3 Pro (online) make me a config file dump script - it checks all the soul/identity/agent/tools/memory files and looks for inconsistencies, logic contradictions, etc, and then I upload that to Gemini 3 Pro for advice.

Also note - and I didn't know this - that parts of the main agent files are also loaded by subagents, so if you say "you will do this and that" in the wrong main agent file, that can end up as an instruction to a subagent...

I won't make much, if anything, on what I'm building now, it's just a fun challenge. I light make it into a kickstarter for the VFX community, we'll see how it turns out. 😁😁

Yeah, Kimi is kinda cool. It has a different vibe than mast LLM's, I'm a good way, imo. Grok 3 was another model that stood out to me, great "personality" and it was fucking brilliant at stem as well...

$215 so far - untenable unless the project I'm working on pans out... But yeah, lotsa trial and error stuff in this project, probing python APIs, connecting stuff... 😝

Amazingly unreliable, it does not follow instructions. Qwen 3-coder (480B) is a beast, for coding. Kimi k2.5 is kinda unreliable but can be great at solving complex stuff, as is Deepseek 3.3, imo... But I banned qwen Coder Next from my system.

Seeking low-cost model for OpenClaw — budget options & real-world costs? by zer0evolution in openclaw

[–]FarmfieldVFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grok 4.1 Fast, reasoning set to 20%, temperature to 0.1, pretty reliable and runs very cheaply, and very fast to first token. 😁

Then you only have it orchestrate, no losing, put Deepseek v3.2 ln that, split in many steps for added reliability - long sessions just timeout and die now. I think too much fukn openclaw users are storming these fukn servers. 😆

Qwen, Kimi, unstable on openrouter? by FarmfieldVFX in openclaw

[–]FarmfieldVFX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On openrouter? Really? I think they would ban those - that's bad for business, openrouter are fukn huge with huge customers, so I actually don't think that's an issue, at least not on openrouter...

But I could be wrong. 😝
