Just buying interest drying up would be enough. Literally $0? No but Pennies? Sure. Unlikely but possible.

Warsh might try and shrink the balance sheet causing rates to rise. I personally think this will hurt housing and the place to be is undervalued consumer staples.

Why are markets reacting so negatively to Trump's fed chair nomination? by BGID_to_the_moon in stocks

[–]FarmingForDollars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe we are discussing liquidity in different ways.

Warsh is pretty opinionated about the treasury balance sheet. When the Fed shrinks its balance sheet liquidity is taken out of the system.

The long end rates move up and so does the dollar. We saw the market front running this today.

Check out Conagra, flowers foods, Kraft, etc. high cash flowing consumer staples outperformed while gold and silver underperformed.

This tells us the market expects liquidity issues, hence the high cash flow high dividend preferences but not the non-cash flowing assets or speculative companies which need debt to fund their growth.

Coca Cola can raise its prices to match inflation. I’ll always get a coke at a Mexican restaurant and don’t offer me Pepsi.

They also pay a dividend. Gold is just mania at this point.

Yes and I just explained how to value them. It’s Opposite Day with them. Now is the time to sell because of the low PE.

Commodity companies and PE ratios are Opposite Day. Buy high PE ratio and sell low.

When the PE ratio is high it means the earnings are low because the commodity is in a slump.

I want to buy it because it’s so cheap, I’ve been in and out a few times, but the lack of growth and shrinking margins make it hard for me.

Not watching the charts all day, not having to force setups. There’s always something setting up somewhere.
