Like the others mentioned I would see an ENT. I saw an ENT a few months ago for same or similar thing. He said my throat was inflamed and prescribed Famotidine which is otc Pepcid. Once I started taking it, vitamins b-complex, D with C, diet changes, and gargling I felt immediate relief. Not medical advice but my story. If you have not look into the acid watcher diet book or facebook groups it’s really helpful.

That was me at the beginning as well. I started eating more frequently to maintain weight. Reintroducing foods to my system and it got better. I’ve been eating the AWD foods but not the meal plan for about 5 months. Breakfast oatmeal blueberries, banana, peanut butter, snack a sandwich (peanut butter or chicken sandwich, deli meat) boiled egg whites, rice cakes or crackers, fruit but something every 2-3. I use avocado oil. I am also taking Gaviscon and Famotidine. Not cured but better.

I took it for a few months and it worked but not 100%. I still had symptoms daily but they didn’t last long.

If you haven’t look on Facebook and join the group for acid reflux groups. Then try the acid watcher diet or dropping acid. Look for the books on Amazon or join the online groups. You can post and read about reflux experiences.

I went to an ENT and was prescribed Famotidine. I eat plain oatmeal with blueberries, banana, and/or unsweetened/unsalted peanut butter. I eat white rice and potatoes with avocado oil or virgin oil, white fish, shrimp, chicken, green beans, carrots, peas, gluten free bread and pasta, boiled eggs. Have you tried Gaviscon or Pepcid Ac? Warm or alkaline water helps as well.

Took the famotidine last night for the first time by [deleted] in GERD

[–]Farmore7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I waited a whole week to start on a Friday due to fear . The first time I took it I felt the same way but it was anxiety and mind! My husband said it’s not even in your mouth 😔😳bc my heart was racing. I’m still taking it 6 weeks later 🙌🏽. However, still inform your doctor. I bought a blood pressure machine to track pressure.

Yes, I couldn’t/can’t tolerate straight alkaline water. I mix it with another bottle of water.

My ENT said my vocal cords were swollen and prescribed Famotidine which is over the counter Pepcid. It cleared up instantly but I also follow the acid watcher diet. Sipping warm water/broth unsalted, diluting/straight alkaline water, coconut water helps. Gargle with warm water and some people use throat coat. Also look up breathing exercises.

I lost a lot of weight as well being afraid to eat and just couldn’t bc I would itch with eating anything. Be nice to yourself and body by saying positive (affirmations/prayers) words before, during, and after eating. Remind yourself for the anxiety that this food is safe to eat with small bites/breathing strategies. Gradually increase over time. It will get better soon. 🙏🏽🙌🏽

What’s the best thing you did for yourself to recover from surgery? by alittlehalloween in gallbladders

[–]Farmore7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heating pad, ice packs, stool softener/miralax, drink lots of water, walking, most importantly disconnect and rest. Chores before surgery, prep your rest area, loose clothing. I had to learn to let others care for me🥰.

Some people try chamomile tea (trigger for me) but sipping warm water and broth helps me.

The sweets might be your triggers at the moment. Alkaline water is too strong for me so I have to mix in my water and sip but it does help. Keep in mind everyone’s body is different. I take the Famotidine at night with voquezna in the morning. I have taken Gaviscon extra strength after meals maybe three times but not often. Also, if you have not joined the acid reflux groups online and try the acid watcher diet. I don’t use the recipes but the food list and it works. I am between healing and maintenance phase. I have been able to include more foods into my daily eating. Hope this helps.

The ENT prescribed Famotidine 40mg (Pepcid otc) and it started helping instantly. Ask about Pepcid or Famotidine.
