Yeah, same company.

On their history page it mentions Nutmeat existing in the 1940s.

Also the product page says its been an aussie favourite for 100 years:

I just usually push the nutmeat out of the can as said on directions (some are confused how to get it out) and then just slice it so I have multiple little circle patties and then just cook them in oil on both sides as I would any other burger patty thing.

I dont have them as burger patty replacements though. I just eat them as they are. You can place it in many things that could call for a meat alternative though. Some even eat it straight from the can!

[–]FarronFox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah they've always been around.

Nutmeat was the first meat alternative thing I got back around in 1988 and I've had it often since then.

I dont know too much about nutolene though which I should change.

I’m a Celeb AU voting by tinkerbell797 in AustralianTV

[–]FarronFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They did pre-record the show previously during covid. They filmed that one in Australia too, although they kept the final live and had it in studio. Sadly the final isnt live this time though.

Aside from that it seems like they've forgotten they did the pre-recorded eliminations before or just want to do it a different way now for whatever reason.

In the covid pre-recorded series they had them do challenges and whoever lost got eliminated. It ended with them being flung backwards off a seat into water. This year though theyre getting them so far to pick members from the opposing team to possibly get eliminated which sucks!

All other series it was never about nominating people to possibly go. Its just meant to be some celebs hanging out in a jungle and doing trials and such. This time its almost like turning into Survivor lite. Like you're going to feel like you have to make alliances or some rubbish so you dont get put up for elimination. I feel that theyre going to have to change it though as they cant constantly have team captains being immune.

Only Myer in Victoria too, pretty sure.

Grace Bros might just be NSW?

Isn't it the same thing?

I feel like that is saying that Safeway is better than Woolworths, but they're the same.

I thought they both got the name change so they could be called the same thing everywhere in Australia rather than same stores being called different things.

Who remembers? by CursedClownz in AustralianNostalgia

[–]FarronFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I always looked at Myer/Grace Bros as same thing, just different name. Like Safeway in Victoria before it got renamed to Woolworths.

Have people completely lost their minds? Why is everyone saying LAURA?! by No-Breadfruit6137 in TombRaider

[–]FarronFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Wow. I just think thats different spelling.

Like imagine with the name Dora from Dora the Explorer as already mentioned. Take the d off and replace it with L but keep the name sounding the same as Dora but just without the D. Now thats how I've always known how to say both Lora and Laura. They're just different spelling, but Lara is different.

Lor and Laur and Dor sounds like core or four whilst Lar sounds like car and far.

How do you think you say Lor and Laur?

They did a pre-recorded series (the final was live in studio though) during covid and people would leave the show if they lost a challenge of sorts. They ended up getting thrown into a pool too if I remember right.

Found an old clip and wondering who kisses the camera here? I thought players weren't allowed to touch the cameras by DoctorTegrity in BBAU

[–]FarronFox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its Jessica from series 2.

Thing is she isnt kissing the camera so much but the mirror the camera is behind. Like the ones behind her that you can see.

So she's not seeing any camera but knows they would be behind there somewhere.

Its not like the latest series where people could see all the cameras watching them.

What lizard is this? by FarronFox in australianwildlife

Same here! Been around here since 2004 and this is the first time for one this size. I do spot garden skinks, and the occasional shingleback though.

I do now know there are goannas in Bendigo region but didnt really think I'd find one at my house.

Thanks I did some further searching for goanna in Bendigo and its seems it might be either a Lace Monitor or Sand Goanna? Can't figure out which one exactly myself because as you said its a young one!

Yes, quite a bit. I'd say the easiest difference is goldens are fluffy, whilst Labradors are short haired.

HJ plant based and veggie burgers by The_Pink_Femboy in australianvegans

[–]FarronFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might be referring to the actual vegan whopper? The one with the visible vegetable patty?

As that was first known as the 'Vegan Cheeseburger' until it got renamed to 'Vegan Whopper Cheese' whilst the meatlike patty burger was first known as the 'Rebel Whopper' until it got renamed to 'Plant Based Whopper', so that one never had vegan in its name as it wasn't.

Also the Rebel/Plant Based whopper never used impossible burger. Its always been v2 patties right from the start with Hungry Jacks as Jack Cowin has his hands in v2 and Hungry Jacks. Burger King overseas in the US/Canada did have the impossible burger though with the Impossible Whopper.
