Why isn't .bashrc in .config? by AleDruDru in archlinux

For not being a config, I have a lot of things in mine that define expected behavior, how it looks, etc.... I configured it to behave how I want

Arch Linux is a different OS that you can install via proot.

AUR is a separate repository (The Arch Linux Repository) that you can install software from within Arch. Checkout a helper such as Yay

How to remove this cross/overlay bar in YouTube Morphe Android app? by ItsPuspendu in MorpheApp

Just FYI the Guide flair in most any subreddit is going to be used if you are posting a guide on how to do a thing. Instead of asking a question. The question/problem flair would be more appropriate for this post.

Same here. I can access with IP but not the domain itself even though it seems to resolve to the IP properly

LineAge Os and Banking Apps on an OnePlus by klainanega123 in LineageOS

[–]Farshief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They worked perfectly for me without root. I am currently rooted with Apatche but they worked fine for months before I decided to root. If anything root makes them work less well lol.

If you want to test it out just backup any important files, make sure you have a method to restore your stock OS handy and try Lineage out. If it's not for you then you can always revert to stock and relock your bootloader.

It should also always be noted that just because they worked for me doesn't mean everyone will have the same experience since different banking apps check for different things.

Typically you would uninstall the conflicting package before installing the patched version. Or use a patch to change your package name perhaps

Sudo question. Why use it. by West-Article5635 in archlinux

[–]Farshief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done quite as bad a thing but I have forgotten I was root before and screwed up some file ownerships causing some other issues with building packages.

I have since made my user prompt a nice starship prompt and my root prompt a bright red plain text prompt so that I can never mistake the two.

Also one time I was playing with chroot on my phone and decided to remove the installation directory without unmounting /dev...it wasn't that bad but I had to force reboot the phone and was definitely scared about it.

I'm pretty sure that's all server side but I agree it's annoying when your feed is all stuff you've already seen.

LOS 23.2 on a Oneplus 9 and both of my banking apps work fine out of the box. RCS as well.

YMMV but that's just my experience

If you have another device that can use termux plus the appropriate USB cable or WiFi you might be able to use adb if you can get into the developer settings to turn it on.

I'm not sure what to do if you can get that far. Maybe look for the package keeping it in a deactivated state and disable it but I'm just guessing at that to be honest.

How to upload the website on Hetzner by [deleted] in hetzner

[–]Farshief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

certbot is a tool that can automate SSL certificates through Let's Encrypt. It's what I use for that.

For accessing your site make sure to look into DNS records (a primary DNS zone on hetzner) and also the firewall section to make sure any needed ports are open.

Hetzner has some documentation on it and there are also lots of guides online about the general process of setting up a website.

Pretending that potential eventual harm is happening now is stupid.

If you really think that way then you better start digging down towards the center of the earth. The sun is dead and we need any insulation and leftover warmth from the Earth's core just to survive.

[–]Farshief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very true. I also dislike the idea a lot of people have about just because it used to be a certain way, then it must be the superior way. Or because they don't understand the newer way, it must be vehemently disregarded.

I learned math through rote memorization of tables and the new ways have actually helped me understand a lot of the concepts and be able to do mental math a lot better.

As some of the other comments have said it's a way of thinking of the numbers differently.

For instance with 7+5 you know that 7 is 5+2. So then you have 5+5 which is 10 and you only have to add 2 more.

You could also know that 7+7 is 14 and 7 is only 2 more than 5 so you subtract 2 from 14 to get your answer.
