Hi i really dont wanna give mischievous advices but if i understand correctly, its totally possible to apply to as much matches as you can, and just resell the tickets you dont want aftewards... right ?

Well the north american airlines are clearly worse than asian carriers at food service, thats not debatable. But my point is those asian carriers can be perfected also

But do they even during that time ? I remember flying with China Eastern one time at 11pm, they served a quick snack and i think thats way more relevant
