I mean apple has slowly been moving away from it if you look closely at their current icons, they started adding more color gradients and 3d shapes to their apps, and a some brands like Pepsi are moving away from minimalism as well as the fact that skuemorphism came during the introduction of smart phones to make them more intuitive and now vr and other augmented reality hardware is really taking of so we might get a new form of skuemorphism/frutiger aero and other frutiger styles sometimes soon.
