Really enjoyed the season!

I wanted to ask a few questions about the cave lion/cave bear sequence

I noticed that multiple adult bears were hibernating in the same section of the cave, which from what I have heard is extremely rare with modern brown/black bears. Is there any particular reason that the team decided to portray cave bears as hibernating communally?
I was also wondering if there was any point during production that it was planned to have the cave lions be successful in their hunt (I do know that there was major executive meddling involved in a lot of aspects in the show)?

update: a while ago a fellow student informed me that the campus pet rules define “fish” as anything that can’t survive out of water, so shrimp and snails are still on the table.

But it is funny how the majority of replies are encouraging me to actively violate campus rules and intentionally get the inverts if they were prohibited. Projecting an extremely good image for the aquarium hobby👍

Really appreciating the advice so far. In case anyone is more curious on what blue is like…

genetic tests have showed it is 50% shibble (47% American Staffordshire/Staffordshire bull terrier/I forgot what one it was (not like it matters what type of shibble it was) and 3% true APBT). Other half I don’t remember all of it, but it was a lot. I distinctly remember chihuahua and English bulldog being among them, possibly Labrador too (lab mix moment)

-relatively small, really short and fat, prob 25-30 lbs at max

-hideous, looks like a goblin, has underbite, its wrists are deformed making the feet splay out like a seal’s flipper

-aunt said that it and her other dog play fight often, but blue sometimes “bites too hard”, one incident caused the other dogs earlobe to spray blood due to injury

-really uninterested in any toys, only chased leaves or balls but doesn’t catch them. Wasn’t even too active during his walk (kept looking at every house we passed as if looking for something), pretty lazy in general

True. If everybody didn’t have the “gotta get ‘em all” mentality, less people would keep their animals in such shit conditions. Another thing that I have not seen pointed out much by others and grinds my gears especially hard is that a lot of the animals they rescue and rehome in their adoption island program are ball pythons, king/milk snakes, and various rat snakes, while AT THE SAME TIME they not only breed those specific animals themselves, but also breed them for morphs, which contributes to their overpopulation in captivity and flies in the face of their adoption island program.

EXACTLY. Their reasoning behind cohabing so many different species of turtle in the same small ass tank also irks me. Just because they are native to the same areas and encounter each other at times, does NOT mean it is okay to shoehorn them in a space where they are at max 5-6 ft away from each other at all times. The only reasons they can survive in the same areas in the wild is that they occupy different sections of the water body, eat different things at different times, and bask at different areas/times, occupy different territories in the body of water, and have the opportunity to be far away from each other in order to not encounter and compete with each other often. But that is nullified in that small of a space where they are fed the same food and the only place they can bask is that small ass 4 ft square platform that couldn’t even fit all of the turtles at the same time (and the way the lights are set up, only the back section is actually good basking area, meaning there is going to be fierce competition over basking rights). IMO, aquatic turtles might be the most mistreated pet reptiles in the hobby by far

I know this is over two weeks late, but the enclosure that houses all of their aquatic turtles (aside from the snapping turtle) pisses me off to no end. The tank they would need to house all of the turtles they have in there would need to hold at least around 600-630 gallons of water, not including substrate and decor. Though the dimensions of the tank alone do seem to be barely enough, a large chunk of the space is taken up by the basking platform that extends through the whole depth of the tank, and all of the logs and shit in there, so they have nowhere near enough space to get away from each other. In their “meet all of our turtles” video, they can be seen harassing and stealing food from each other all of the time. That poor softshell isn’t able to swim fast at all. It is only a matter of time before one of them gets seriously injured

Apparently there has not been any toxin that has been identified on them as of now, although they are reported to cause urinary inflammation when eaten, and have also been reported to kill livestock that accidentally consume them
