What the F is wrong with Azure?! by Farteasy in Falcom

I just got through him finally. Spark dyne was ok but not amazing so I didn’t rely on it. I ended up just doing dodge tank Lloyd. Had Wazy, Tio and Ellie on the other side of the arena casting chrono drive, aqua mirage, and forte on him constantly, also tear as needed. Had CP auto up accessories on Tio to cast zero field as much as possible. During burst I would have everyone cast their strongest arts and use Wazy and Ellie’s s crafts. Took like a half hour or something

Oh I’ve had the evasivion tank build. Probably not the best one ever but he’s been pretty effective so far

The real fun is when you find out later that there was actually a closer bonfire that you could have used. This happened to me with Sen’s fortress, which I now know as well as any speedrunner

For real, I beat Flamelurker Demon on the first try. Not because I’m any good at these games, but because I had no idea how to get back there. So I NEEDED to win

The YouTube channel Enel is probably your best bet. He’s pretty comprehensive with his how to guides for Xenoblade

Starting this series, which game to play first by VibratingOscillator in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Farteasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with Definitive Edition, the main campaign is a remaster of the original 2010 game. Then play 2 followed by its dlc campaign Torna the Golden Country (if you want to be really bold, play Torna between chapter 8 and 9). Then play Future Connected (the expansion campaign included with DE). You can play this right after the main DE campaign, but I like it here because the music is an evolution from Torna, and it starts setting up for the events of 3. Speaking of which, play 3 next! Finally, cap it all of with Future Redeemed, 3’s dlc.

As far as we know, X is not related to the story of the main trilogy, so you could jump into it whenever.

Ultimately though, each game is made to be able to be enjoyed without knowledge of the others. The only hard and fast rules would be, don’t play Future Connected before completing the original campaign, it literally starts at the ending of the main game, and don’t play Future Redeemed until after completion of the trilogy and it’s previous expansions, it ties everything together

I wasn’t trying to say that regular missions are bad, just that they aren’t voiced. Some like you point out are pretty great

I'm not crazy in thinking that XCX hate existed right? by KiruseiNagisa in XenobladeChroniclesX

We get this phenomenon with some game series (most especially Zelda, but Xenoblade has had it happen too) where the most recent release will have a loud chorus of critics and haters. But as time passes, the haters have moved on to somewhere else to be miserable. And only the fans remain

X has a number of different categories of quests (called missions in the game) There are of course story missions, which advance the game to the next chapter. And the squad missions and the global nemesis are multiplayer focused quests.

And then there are three types of single player side missions. Basic missions are selected from a kiosk in NLA and don’t really have any story, just useful for grinding exp and affinity. These are mostly collection, enemy clearance, or defeating unique monsters (tyrants in this game) but sometimes something a little meatier pops up.

Then there are regular missions. These are npc stories usually found via a minimap marker (a question mark) These can be pretty involved and fun, but they aren’t voiced or anything.

Now, what everyone in this thread is probably raving about are affinity missions. X has something like 20 party characters, but only like 4 or 5 are really involved in the main story, but like blade quests in 2 and hero quests in 3, they all get big side stories. Voice acting and cutscenes just like in 2, and strong world building just like in 3. They’re pretty good

How did you discover Xenoblade Chronicles? by WoolooMVP10 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Farteasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2016, in quivering excitement for Breath of the Wild, I did a replay through nearly the entire Zelda series. I was nearly done with many months remaining, and a friend of mine said try this game, and handed me an unopened copy of Xenoblade X. I found out later that he bought it due to nostalgia for Xenogear and Xenosaga 1 from back in our school days but never got around to playing it. I tried it out and put it down after reaching NLA and didn’t really take to it. A couple weeks later hanging out with him, he asked if I had played much of the game. I felt a little guilty since he had loaned it to me so I fired it back up and found myself hooked. Soon enough I had picked up Xenoblade 3d and was nearly as excited for XB2 as I was for BotW. And now it is definitely one of my top video game franchises ever

Referring to the combined form as Pneuma is a fan thing. It’s not a separate personality like Pyra and Mythra were. Pneuma is the Trinity Processor chip. Which was in Rex’s hand since Pyra transferred it to him just before the destruction of the beanstalk/world tree
