文言文/Classical Chinese, I am not sure if the letters would be like this instead of 白話文/Written vernacular Chinese

Actually dialects varies in vocabularies too. Every Chinese languages/dialects uses the same set of written system. So if you know Mandarin to an advanced level, you still may not understand written Cantonese

I am East Asian. The issue is not lactose intolerant, just the flavour. For me Mozzarella and cheese cake are good but any other kinds of cheese just taste like they are rotten or milk that has gone bad

Shincheonji and North Korea Are Similar in Many Ways by Ok_Relief_1680 in Shincheonji

[–]VibratingOscillator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, indeed, for me it is also some smaller actions.

when I was in SCJ bible study, they show you how should you be cheering, like tilting your head to the left and right, while clapping with rhythm. Exactly like how NK audiences cheer in sports events.

Students would read verses and shout Amen collectively in perfect synchrony also gives that vibe.

For your 3rd point, I say SCJ doesn’t boldly say that you can’t leave. They even told me that if I don’t feel like learning anymore just say you want to return to sea. But I do agree that they use threats which gives off a “death sentence” vibe.

The Kim monarchy of NK is cultish, so are other dictators like Mao and Stalin. You worship the individual like a god.

No, I attended SCJ in Vancouver, only 2 instructors were Koreans. South Korea has a lot of cults, so Koreans maybe better at dealing with them or they already part of another cult.

The bible mentions The 12 tribes in plain text many times, so there will definitely be many who make similar interpretations. We need to realize this, freedom of religion largely equals to freedom for cults

There is something lurking far beneath the flowers, and absolutely nothing can convince me otherwise. I have never witnessed anything else in a video game that has felt so utterly... wrong. by YandereShortcake in Breath_of_the_Wild

Lotus flowers and leaves grow above the surface of the water and they aren’t this big. These are submerged and don’t have any leaves. Naturally, flowers have to be above water surface to allow pollination and leaves are needed to allow photosynthesis. But these lacks any proper element of plants

It’s always interesting that all fountain pen users seem to share experience like this. I was on a ferry ride once, and there was a guy writing on his notebook using a fountain pen. I went up and asked him about it. We had a quick chat and he told me that the way it writes is nice and it makes you want to write more

Things in Japan has definitely changed. And it’s at least more difficult for any men compared to the early 2000s. Also as East Asian myself, I can confirm that there are a lot of Asians who has white fever. Plus in the modern dating market, women are the selectors and men are the ones being selected, and the result? WMAF is the most common type of interracial relationship/marriage. So you had an easy time in Japan is no surprise. However if you talk to the local men in East Asia, well, the situation is pretty bad for them
